    Great experience!
A lovely spot and very well looked after. This must have been the cleanest swimming spot we found and the nicest fales to shelter from the sun! Lovely clear water in the spring, with quite large fish. Not a huge variety but crystal clear and quite refreshing as colder than the sea! And nice as no current. Come early in the day before the crowds arrive and the water gets all mixed up. Bring a picnic lunch to make use of the lovely fales. Snorkeling in the sea is quite good too, better at high tide.

    1st time at Piula
I would give it five stars, but we’ve been to some more incredible fresh water swimming places since then. It is a lovely visit though, and the kids had a fun time swimming around. It was nice having bathrooms and a place to change and fales, for sure!

    10/10 Swim Spot
The most incredible swim spot! Suitable for all ages. We were amazed at how many fish there were! But watch out for giant eels. The water was crystal clear and refreshing, would definitely recommend as a must-see while you’re in Apia.

Piula cave pool- a different type of cooling off.
Absolutely recommend visiting this place when holidaying in Samoa. Set within 1 of the most immaculate villages it was such a nice change of water scenery. The toilets and bathrooms were clean and updated so made the post swim meal enjoyable. We ate at a few cafes but we thought this place had the best hot chips! Water was refreshing and relaxing in the cave was a great way to cool off from the humid weather. Would visit again.

    Part of a cruise excursion.
The Piula Cave Pool located at the Piula Theological College in the Village of Lufilufi and there is a fee to go swimming here. Near the pool are washrooms and places that you can sit at. There are stairs that go up the hill to the college grounds if you wish to explore them. As seen from the photos, there are caves that you can swim into.

    Gorgeous Cave Pool
Incredible fresh water, so fresh and cool. Piula Caves is just beautiful, definitely worth visiting and spending some time floating in the gorgeous pool. There is also snorkelling off the beach there, which looked to be very popular. My recommendation would be to get there early in the morning before it gets too busy.

    A cool swim
In the village of Lufilufi east of Apia, look for the small road-side sign at the entry to Piula Theological College (the sign is easily missed, the College isn’t). There is an entry fee of WST5/person (minimum) and after walking down the steps (or driving down) there are modern, clean and well-kept change rooms adjacent to the pool. A small fale is right next to the poor and you can leave your gear there and/or sit at the tables. The pool is a natural freshwater pool formed by a spring dripping water out of a lave tube cave, is quite deep but safe to swim in, and the water is comparatively cold. There are a few fish but they aren’t an issue. If you’re looking for a cool swim, this is one place to enjoy it.

    A beautiful little oasis.
A little gem on the island of Samoa. Set in the grounds of a theological college, this is a perfect little oasis. The cave pool is very cold with crystal clear fresh water. I didn't get into the pool with the rest of my group, as it was a bit tricky having to climb down some rocks into it. I also prefer to have my feet touch the bottom when I'm in the water and this is very deep. There is another plus to this place, just a few yards away from the pool is the ocean, where the water is clear and very warm. It was also easy to enter and was shallow enough for me to stand up in. There are also changing rooms and toilets available here.

This is one of our family favourites. One of the best freshwater spots in Upolu. The only downside is that it is loved by many others so it tends to get very full during the weekends but especially during the Holidays.
We've been coming here since the beginning of time and seen Piula through it's stages and they've done pretty well with accomodation (new fales, ladies garden bathroom like what?!, a beautiful deck, a little shop run by the ladies and more) and this is all managed in the little space they have so well done!

A beautiful spot but was so busy. It felt like the pool had way too many people and my suggestion is to give it a wide berth during the public holiday / holiday season. Was looking for some tranquility and regrettably did not find it here today. A real shame as a lot of reviews are so positive. Timing is everything.

Our first stop on our day trip with Tropical Tours Samoa and it was great swimming.
The water is a lovely temp.
Take your snorkel-there are fish swimming around you.
The water was very clear and there's a dark cave to explore too.
Costs 10 tala pp-they have change rooms but no doors on the toilets.
It's a religious school who manage this so have your bathers on already if you're shy.
Coffee, food and I bought some great sarongs for my females for 12 tala each.
A great spot

Visited 8th of August. Parked at the top and walked down the stairs, though i did then find out you can continue driving down and park right next to the changing rooms. Paid 5 tala to the very helpful young men from the college. Lovely little swimming spot, even the locals swam for hours. Lots of fish swimming there too. Not recommended to swim under the cave, too dangerous. The Fales they have overlook both the pool and the ocean and it is a beautiful sight. Only thing i would change is the changing rooms, they are very run down - ants everywhere, taps that wouldn’t turn off, no doors on some stalls - got dressed in the middle of the room as i didn’t want to be in the tiny stall

Such a beautiful spot to refresh and wash away all the salt. Loved by locals and visitors alike. I highly recommend a visit here. The water is so clear, it's almost blue and there are plenty of fresh water fish to see at the bottom. Couldn't get enough of this place!
