Met Terri a solo artist and traveler returning to this church. She wanted to recapture a new photo of herself from a similar angle that had been taken of herself back when she was 17. Terri is now in her 50s and we were happy to be her photographer. There are a great many angles to photograph this incredible church... More

Very old church, very pretty-and old, lit a candle said a few prayers. Always like to see churches wherever I visit -- not even religious.

Need Spanish knowledge to appreciate all the testimonies hanged with the paintings along the walls recreating the miracles taken place.

The wood carved doors and color of the stone present itself well for the town of Banos. The Gothic style building is representative of many churches throughout Ecuador.

It may not be the most impressive church you'll ever see (for that go to La Basilica in Quito). However, it is a very cozy and well preserved church with colonial style. Get a candle and go to a mass inside, it's a great experience to learn about local culture.

The Basilica Reina del Rosario de Agua Santa is located in the Central Plaza of the city of Baños. Inside you can see a collection of murals depicting local miracles attributed to the Lady, patroness of the city. The church was built in the center of the town of Baños, surrounded by beautiful mountains, waterfalls and the Tungurahua volcano. It... More

I made it the most, because I visited places like: Basilica de Nuestra Señora de Agua Santa which is located in the central... More

This church made of volcanic rock is very impressive when lit up at night. Inside, the church also has a very impressive gilt covered altar which alone is worth seeing. What I found fascinating were the historical paintings on both walls of the church. I spent two visits reading every caption under the historical paintings. Reading the captions and looking... More

this little church has paintings presenting the history of the Banos area, very different. The altar is typical with gold gilt and statues. Nice to go in and take a moment to think and meditate. Next door is a small museum- with some interesting displays.
