Relaxing quiet walk, especially interesting for bird or plant nerds

I spent most of an afternoon wandering in this reserve, mostly on the yellow trail with a side scramble to a high point with great 360 view [blue trail]. There are two more strenuous trails that involve climbing, beyond my 70 yo energy. The trail I walked waswell marked and mostly smooth. The spa in Arakur Hotel hands out trail maps and keeps tabs on hotel guests--they want to know when you go out & return [I think for guest safety, e.g., one might fall], Entry is free & a guide is not needed for the yellow trail, but enjoyment would probably be much enhanced with one.

Nice walk
Oct 2017 • Couples
We did all the routes while staying ar the Arakur. Especially the yellow is simple, the red has a bit of a climb. Very clear trail, for me a longer route would have been even nicer.

ARAKUR AND CERRO ALARKEN NATURAL RESERVE IS A PLACE YOU CAN'T MISS IF YOU TRAVEL TO USHUAIA
Oct 2016
We stayed with my wife at ARAKUR, an hotel that has his own private nature reserve, where you can walk freely and get in touch with the nature as it was centuries ago. Every day, when we came back from our excursions, we walk for around one hour around this untouched forest, full of local trees, flowers and astonishing views over surrounding mountains, valleys, Ushuaia and Beagle Channel, More the 100 ha were you can relax and feel the spirit of this region. Don't worry if you see some horses, which were introduce by european and two lovely dogs that normally follows you when you walk around. We had good wheather the three days that we spend in Ushuaia, but I was told that even with rough wheather is an unique experience to visit this place

A taste of the Fuegian forest just in the city
Jan 2015 • Couples
Beaver dams, waterfalls, peat bogs while not leaving Ushuaia. A nature reserve of small size where to know first hand the charm of the forests of Tierra del Fuego. Some old trails that can be followed alone or with a guide from the adjacent Arakur hotel. A must for people with no time for long excursions.
