Overview
More
The End of the World Museum has two locations: Foundational House (Ex Banco Nación, Maipú 173) and Antigua Casa de Gobierno (Maipú 465). It offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, and preserves a large historical archive and important collections available for consultation. Its vast heritage was made up of its own acquisition, donations from individuals, institutional collaborations and through different research programs. The entrance to the Museum is free for residents of the Province of Tierra del Fuego.

This museum might be less disappointing if one has not visited the Presidio first, but the public exhibition area which deals with the history of the city is rather limited and the material on the Presidio rather duplicates material which is better displayed at the...More

This building on the waterfront road has a few rooms with history of the area and a lot of great stuffed birds. Since it’s free, it’s worth dropping in at the beginning of your visit or if you want to avoid the high price at...More

We enjoyed seeing the old prison and it kind of reminded me of the Alcatraz Tours in San Francisco. Ushuaia was founded by colonizing the area with convicts so the old prison has got some great history attached to it. Other wings discussed Argentenian history...More

Disappointingly this place does not take credit cards - quite disgraceful for what is meant to be a main attraction. We had run out of pesos and didn't have dollars with us ..... so we could not visit and just looked at the few train...More

We regret your experience, but probably it was not our Museum that you visited. We have some months with free admission for all public, until further notice. Could you tell us the approximate date you visited us? Thank you very much.

It's a nice museum of city history. It's free to the public with generous hours of operation. Unfortunately we had to rush as got there too close to closing.
