We loved our time spent on the boat. First of all, it's a small one and can only fit about 10-12 people which makes the experience more personal. The guide is really passionated about nature and knows a lot about it - he had so many intersting stories and we learnt a lot about the area and its nature but also its history. We saw a few penguins, plenty of cormorants and sea lions. They give you plenty of time to admire them and get pretty close. The hike on the Island is the cherry on the cake, so beautiful. Not to be missed, for us it's the best boat tour in Ushuaia. great value for money!

We are extremely happy we found Tres Marias. We took a trip on the yacht in the Beagle Channel. Moreover, we were walking 1,5h on the Island H which was amazing! so quiet and beautiful - real beauty. This is the only company with permission to walk on Island H (according to official Ushuaia tourist office). The trip was only with 6 persons and not ultra crowded as we saw other boats. Very nice and cool people (knowing a lot about fauna and flora) working for Tres Marias. Highly recommended! Michal y Ale

An absolute must-do while being in Ushuaia. The tour is small, 12 people max, so there is more personal attention compared to huge other boattours with boats filled with 100+ people. Plus, you get the change to walk around on one of the islands in the Beagle Channel. All worth it.

Tres Marias, as we saw a good review on this operator, we decided to take a cruise with them. But it ended up not as great as we hoped.
In summary, main complain was lack of or false information provided at the time of purchase, that raised false expectations and frustrations, which was NOT nice to have during your trip all the way in Ushuaia.

We were told that the trip was about 4 hours long. We specifically asked if we would be able to go to the bow(front) of the ship at the time of wildlife viewing, and a lady at the counter said YES. And we were very happy to hear that, because it was important point. She told us departure time was 10am, so we asked if we needed to be there 30 minutes before. Then she told us we can arrive at the meeting point 10 am, and that will be good enough. All these little details, durations and meeting time, quality of ship and excursion was our determination point. So the information they gave us was important.

On our excursion day, we got there at 10, but nobody came to greet us until 10:15 ish. It ended up the departure time was 10:30, not 10, and the lady at the departure told us by laughing, but it was never informed to us. So we wasted a quick breakfast opportunity and also made us worried until someone approached us for the departure.
Once we got onboard, captain of the boat told us bow of the ship is closed and inaccessible. We were frustrated to hear that, because we were told we could. Basically, a lady at the ticket office told us false information.
During the cruise, we had a good guide, his name was Christian. He was open, fun, attentive. We liked him. And visiting H island was nice. But the captain was not open to do anything more than quick basic trip, we passed a porpoise that was very hard to see in general, but he ignored it and just kept going and no sign of making passengers happy.
And this trip ended only 3 hours. We were informed it would be 4 hours. That is one whole hour difference! Which is another major decision point to us. Lady gave us another false information! So if anyone is told this trip is 4 hours, that is a LIE. It is 3 hours and other than visiting H island, everything is fast, simply "passing by" and not to take too much time for wildlife sightings.
Since we were very unhappy with the result, we took other operator the next day, and we were VERY happy with the experience. No false information, things were transparent, good crew, good yacht, spent good focus and enjoyable time with wildlife.

I cannot suggest Tres Marias to my friends. And we will not go with them when we visit Ushuaia again in the future.

We sailed around the Beagle Channel and visited some islands on the sailing boat "If..." This was a really wonderful and unforgettable experience. Sailing out of the Beagle Channel was amazing. Our guide was very enthusiastic and had lots of information...

We were there ready forbthe small yatch cruise. We booked. We noticed we were the only ones in the list for that day. They told us just 15 minutes before that due to the weather they were not sailing. We did not believe it and went to the company right next to it. We had a great time sailing in the islands. And so did all the other yatchs of all the other companies.
So, they just lied to us because the true reason was that there were not enough customers. There was ZERO wind.

We are very pleased that our choice was Tres Marias for the Beagle channel excursion. It is the ‘only’ vessel that offers trekking on H Island, which is an amazing natural reserve of the ancient Yamana Indians. Must do!

Tres Marias is a small family run business, Hector and son, Marino, both bilingual. The personal attention the family gave us made such a difference. The boat ride is a maximum of 10 passengers which let’s you ask more questions and have a one on one experience with the guides and those on board.

Tres Marias is a well organized boat ride, friendly atmosphere and knowledgeable guides. They surely deserve an excellent review!

Sailing on the Beagle Channel was an amazing way to experience it. I booked with Tres Marias before arriving and sailed on the IF... sailboat with a few other daunting souls. A cold front had blown in from Antarctica a few days before making the trip questionable and we did not know until 15 minutes before sailing whether the trip was on or off. Lucky for us the captain decided it was safe, albeit was a cold 39F. They also had rubber coats and pants for everybody to help keep dry and break the wind. The vegetation on H Island is incredible and the 1 hour hike was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. Our guide (Mario) was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. He was also always there with a helping hand on some of the more difficult parts of the hike. After the hike we were offerred hot chocolate and tea in the cabin. I reserved a spot via the internet a couple of weeks before the trip and am so glad I did because they were turning people away. Their web site is www.tresmariasweb.com. It cost $80/person for 4 hours of adventure and was well worth it. Dress in lots of layers and wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots.

My friend and I took this tour on the sailing boat "IF". The day we went the weather was sunny and warm. Tres Marias has exclusive rights to the eco sensitive H Island. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was truly a protector of that island. We had a small group of only 6 others so one could easily ask questions and expect to get an answer. I would highly recommend Tres Marias to anyone going to Ushuaia. Only negative was a gust of wind blew my hat off and as we moved on it disappeared into the distance.

Our trip with Tres Marías on the Beagle Canal was excellent. The sales staff a the booth are friendly enough but the boat crew was really endearing! I loved to see the sea lions from up close and I enjoyed the walk on Isla H. I also enjoyed the fact that the boat only has space for 10 passengers tops and the "captain" talked to us personally all the time instead of having to use a microphone or recorded messages.
