Tres Marias, as we saw a good review on this operator, we decided to take a cruise with them. But it ended up not as great as we hoped. In summary, main complain was lack of or false information provided at the time of purchase, that raised false expectations and frustrations, which was NOT nice to have during your trip all the way in Ushuaia. We were told that the trip was about 4 hours long. We specifically asked if we would be able to go to the bow(front) of the ship at the time of wildlife viewing, and a lady at the counter said YES. And we were very happy to hear that, because it was important point. She told us departure time was 10am, so we asked if we needed to be there 30 minutes before. Then she told us we can arrive at the meeting point 10 am, and that will be good enough. All these little details, durations and meeting time, quality of ship and excursion was our determination point. So the information they gave us was important. On our excursion day, we got there at 10, but nobody came to greet us until 10:15 ish. It ended up the departure time was 10:30, not 10, and the lady at the departure told us by laughing, but it was never informed to us. So we wasted a quick breakfast opportunity and also made us worried until someone approached us for the departure. Once we got onboard, captain of the boat told us bow of the ship is closed and inaccessible. We were frustrated to hear that, because we were told we could. Basically, a lady at the ticket office told us false information. During the cruise, we had a good guide, his name was Christian. He was open, fun, attentive. We liked him. And visiting H island was nice. But the captain was not open to do anything more than quick basic trip, we passed a porpoise that was very hard to see in general, but he ignored it and just kept going and no sign of making passengers happy. And this trip ended only 3 hours. We were informed it would be 4 hours. That is one whole hour difference! Which is another major decision point to us. Lady gave us another false information! So if anyone is told this trip is 4 hours, that is a LIE. It is 3 hours and other than visiting H island, everything is fast, simply "passing by" and not to take too much time for wildlife sightings. Since we were very unhappy with the result, we took other operator the next day, and we were VERY happy with the experience. No false information, things were transparent, good crew, good yacht, spent good focus and enjoyable time with wildlife. I cannot suggest Tres Marias to my friends. And we will not go with them when we visit Ushuaia again in the future.

Today we sailed down the Beagle Channel with Tres Maria. The guide spoke both English and Spanish and was very helpful. The group was only 12 persons which was really nice as you were able to see everything. After visiting the lighthouse we went to H Island and were allowed to do a short guided trek. It was very beautiful, clean and quiet, with lots of flowers. The trip was 4 hours and very enjoyable.

We contacted the Tres Marias by mail a few days before, after two french ladies told us what a wonderful time they had, at first they answered that it was fully booked for the dates we asked and to give them other dates, but buy the time we decided we were there so we showed up and were able to take the afternoon tour, that included H island, the Lamp post and sight seeing of sea lions ... that's what we got, we were glad that we took the covered boat because it was quite cold, a very nice experience in witch we met people from all around the world, no sunset, because sunset is at around 10 pm, but we took fantastic pictures of the sea lions the Lamp post ecc.

We really enjoyed this 3 hour trip to the isles near Ushuaia. The staff were friendly, spoke enough English for us to manage, and gave us a great time. The views are spectacular and the small boat (10 people on our trip) can get very close to the sea lions and cormorants. The stop over on the island was stunning - a magical location with amazing plants. We were shown the camps of the hunter gatherers who lived here before the missionaries came, and imagined their thousands of years compared to the last 150 of constant change. Great hot chocolate and cake too. 100% recommended.

Very nice trip. I think the best in town because it is not so crowded, the stuff/guides are very friendly and give you a lot of information about the area and the wildlife you will see. Isla H is amazing - no one there except you. You get coffee/tea and cookies before and until the trip. Everything perfect.
