My husband and I visited the penguin rookery at the end of October with Piratours. Our tour guide was Augustine and he was the best tour guide we had over our entire visit to Argentina. The island was fascinating. We were luck enough to visit while the Magellan penguins were nesting. We also saw king penguins molting. At the end... More

I booked my tour with Pira Tours before leaving for our South America tour. The electronic transaction was safe and quick. Before going on trip my husband had small injury on his leg. Guide and other people were there to help my husband proper way. It was interesting to see so many penguins on the island. We were lucky to see... More

The best way to really understand how far south you truly are in Ushuaia is to visit the island inhabited with Penguins. It was an unreal experience. Firstly, booking online is a bit complicated but if you can call the office its really very easy (the actual booking was done through email). We took the early tour, we arrived 30... More

So I won't lie, I basically came to Ushuaia to see the penguins. I had pretty high expectations and would have been pretty pissed if I'd flown almost 4 hours from Buenos Aires and the tour was bad. Thankfully, this was not the case. At all. We departed the tourist pier on a full large coach bus around 2 pm... More

Very nice to go there! It starts with a tour in a truck/ bus. They stop at a small museum where they show all types of fishes. Nice stop. After it you come at a small farm from where to boat goes to the pinguins. You can come about 2 meters from them. A must see here! Enjoy

This is the only tour that will take you to the island AND let you walk on the island WITH the penguins. There are a lot of tour companies that go to the island, beach the boat and the visitors stay on the boat and watch the penguins from the boat. This is the only tour company licensed to allow... PiraTour is the only agency with permission to dock at Isla Martillo (Penguin Island) in Ushuaia. You will actually walk in the island and see the penguins up close (3 meters). This was an exceptional experience to have, while at the end of the world, don't settle for just seeing these beautiful creatures from a kayak. Note: You have to... More

We took the penguin tour and Augustine was our guide. The trip was amazing and I would highly recommend! It's an hour and a half drive, you tour a marine biology museum then stop for coffee, then you board a boat for 10 minutes to the island. You are literally standings amidst penguins. Three different species and they are gorgeous.... More

The tour is very well organized and lasts a reasonable amount of time . You drive from Ushuaia for about 1.5 hours to a historic farmstead where it's a 10-12 min boat ride to a small island. The penguins have been nesting on this island for a couple of decades now and most seem habituated to the presence of people.... More

It is the only agency that allows you to walk in the island where most of the penguins can be seen. Worth doing!
