Known as Bird Island this is on the Beagle Channel sightseeing cruise and is a rock islet in the Channel close to Ushuaia which is the nesting and gathering place of a large colony of cormorants. A must for the bird watcher/spotter.

This was our first experience seeing penguins in their native habitat. Our cruise ship dropped anchor, and zodiacs took us to the island where we could walk around seeing, hearing and smelling thousands of birds. Very engaging.
I did the Beagle Channel full tour and even the boat company (Rumbo Sur) doesn´t care much about it and don´t stop at the island.. just pass through it. Mostly probably because tourists are most interested to see the sea lions and penguins.

Boat ride between Andes mountain ranges of Chile and Argentina. It can be chilly even in Summer. Wildlife viewing mostly of birds. Bring binocs &/or telephoto lens, and coat, hat, maybe gloves. Quite enjoyable, even thrilling.
Loved walking on the island for an hour with an enthusiastic guide. Much better than going in a large boat and peering down at the penguins. Only one tour company offer the walk on the island.easy to find their cabin near the port.
