Everything about this trip was fabulous! Eduardo never made us feel excluded despite being the only English speaking couple in the group of nine.

We were picked up from the hotel in a new, comfortable van and taken to the drop-in point. We got lessons on the geology, animals, and early explorers of the area. Before getting on the river, we were given a lesson on how to operate the kayak and what to do if we capsize. We were fitted with the correct attire and given a dry bag for our clothes and food.

The river moved kind of quickly, which made paddling pretty easy. There were a few rapids, but nothing to be worried about. There were two guides in the water with us and I noticed our driver spotting us from the shore in a couple of places. They even took pictures of us since we didn’t have access to our cameras while on the river!

We stopped for a hike and lunch and got to see some pretty cool things and learn a little bit more about the area.

We had a brief paddle to the pick-up point where a celebratory drink was waiting for us!

10/10 would do again. There’s so much more to Argentinian Patagonia than glaciers and mountains.

Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen and water - there’s no shade on the river or during the hike. Also wear leggings and an athletic shirt or be comfortable undressing down to your underwear behind the van or a bush (wetsuits are tight!).

This was an incredible trip! We loved kayaking down the river and walking on the amazing landscapes. It shows a different side to Patagonia and I would highly recommend to anyone visiting El Calafate. Eduardo had so much knowledge on the geography and geology of the area, the entire day was fascinating. He also spoke very good English which was fantastic for a couple with little Spanish! The trip was excellent value for money.

We had a great experience with this company, doing the 1 day tour from Calafate. It was a small group of about 10 people with 2 guides and a driver.

The pickup and transport was well organised.

No issues with the equipment or kayaking for the first time and the “rapids” were pretty tame. The guides were very professional & safety conscious. It would be very hard to capsize one of the kayaks and seems to be a rare event.

The walk in the middle of the tour was pretty easy with some interesting views of fossils and spectacular scenery.

My only suggestion would be to avoid high wind days. Without the wind you can just cruise down the river, going with the current and with minimal effort.

A great way to see a different side of Patagonia.

The kayak tour was excellent from pickup to drop off. We were given complete instructions and everything you needed for waterproof outfits (not the most glamorous outfits) but kept you dry! Definitely break water and lunch or healthy snacks to keep you going on the trek to the top of the mountain. Thourouhly enjoyed the photos taken so I would advise the purchase of the photos.

This tour shows you the other side of the coin when visiting the Argentine Patagonia. We got to immerse ourselves in the steppes which make up 75% of the Patagonia region, look at fossils, hike and the best part, kayak! Our tour guides were utter professionals and were very passionate about the environment, it's history and preservation. The scenery and views are also out of this world! Highly recommend!

That’s what My teenage boys (17) said when we finished a full day of kayaking and exploring the surrounding areas. The river is turquoise blue and the landscape is different from anything we have seen before. The kayaking alone would have been super fun but being in the company of Eduardo, the owner of Kayak Santa Cruz, made it so much better. We joined a small group of visitors, all super nice and outgoing, got equipped and taught the basics of kayaking in the river. Off we went with Eduardo and Gisela who is also super nice. We kayaked for a couple of hours and felt safe the whole time. We then stopped on the shore to start trekking on the Los Hornos area. Eduardo knows everything from geology to history to archeology. He showed us dinosaur bones and all kinds of fossils. We had lunch at a beautiful spot and then hiked back to the kayaks for a short sail to the end of the journey.

We all loved it! It was fun, active, interesting and beautiful. We highly recommend it to anyone, especially as a fun family or group activity. Thank you Eduardo for a great day!

We had an unforgettable day, guides are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to pass on information about Patagonian wildlife and nature and the archeological history. Kayaking was very safe but exciting, 2 hour trek was up steep clay slopes but pace was comfortable. We finished the day feeling exhausted and elated. Don’t miss this excursion if you go to Calafate!

You like fossils and Dinosaurs? this is your tour. I loved the 2h trekking at half point. The day I did it was windy from the back, so it was specially easy (even if maybe a bit too fast over, jejeje)

Ruben, Eduardo and their team are exceptional tour guides. Not only are they safety conscious, mindful of different abilities in the group, and fluent in both English and Spanish, they are passionate about their work and it shines through in the experience they provide.

The tour itself is fantastic - a nice mix of kayaking and hiking to see some amazing arid country, featuring a range of hardy plant and wildlife, as well as dinosaur bones, fossilised coral and petrified wood. Can’t recommend this highly enough.
