Best day of our trip!
Mar 2020 • Couples
I cannot say enough great things about this excursion! We booked it because we read great things and I am beyond happy that we did. Luciano and Augustino are kind, friendly and knowledgable. It is so clear that they love what they do and that makes this experience very fun! We were able to ride freely and the horses were great. It does not matter if you have zero experience riding, or years of experience-it is an amazing experience no matter what. To top it off, Luciano makes you a delicious lunch over fire before heading back to base. This was all very authentic. Very loved every minute of it and would highly highly recommend!

Unique Way to Explore Patagonian Plains
Feb 2020 • Couples
My husband and I had a wonderful day spent with Luciano, and his horses! First of all, he is incredibly interesting - his stories over lunch were one of our favorite parts of the day. Secondly, his love for his horses is evident and inspiring.

On our drive over he stopped from time to time for my husband to take pictures of the varying kinds of birds perched along posts along the way.

The views of the route he took us on were, simply put, breathtaking. He was very informative along the trail, but also gave us time to enjoy our surroundings on our own. The horses were beautiful, and lunch was unique - sandwiches cooked by him over a small open fire & wine surrounded by nature.

We would recommend this experience to reconnect yourselves to nature, and share time with a generous Argentinian local. Thank you, Luciano!!

Luciano is the best

I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel compelled to do it this time, as this was such a unique experience. Most definitely the highlight of our stay in El Calafate. Much has been said in the other reviews so you ll know what to expect. But aside from the breathtaking views with the Perito Moreno in the background, and a true sense of the vastness of the Patagonian stretches, what really stands out here is Luciano. This man is kindness impersonated. Attentive to his clients beyond anything that can be expected, and passionate about what he does. My kids totally loved him, and he found ways to reward them. And we were left with the feeling we had just had one of the most fantastic experiences. Not to be missed when you are here, even if you don’t care that much for horses (aside from my daughter, who was the reason we did this, none of us had a particular interest in horseback riding).

Amazing Day with great views and food!
Dec 2019 • Couples
We had the best time with Lucho and the horses. This will definitely be one of the most memorable experiences we've had. We were picked up from our Airbnb promptly and made our way to the estancia where we were treated to hot coffee, tea, mate and an assortment of yummy pastries to start the day off with. All the horses were well trained to follow the leader and stay in line, Lucho and Augustino were very attentive and made sure everyone was comfortable in their saddles. The ride was very relaxing and the views were incredible. Lunch was delicious and served with a nice red. I cannot recommend this enough! Muchas Gracias Lucho y Augustin!

Amazing experience, one of our highlights!
Dec 2019 • Couples
The whole day was incredible, both me and my husband just loved it. The guys bought some delicious pastries from town and provided tea/coffee when we arrived at the hut.

The saddiling of the horses does take a long time if you have a large group, but we were more than happy to enjoy the outdoors and the surroundings whilst getting to know the horses.

The time spent on the horses was about 3-4 hours which was perfect for us. The horses were very docile, well behaved and responsive. They did trot and cantor on their own time, but it wasn’t scary or anything like that. The views over the valley, the lakes and the glacier were just amazing.

Lunch was also just simple and wonderful. The guys collected some huge mushrooms on the way to the camp- probably the best mushrooms I’ve ever had. They prepared steak and mushroom sandwiches with fresh bread from town for us, they also provided plenty of wine and water.

Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a real, unique experience. We would absolutely do it again tomorrow! It’s been the highlight of our trip so far.

Thank you so much 🙂

The most amazing trip!
Nov 2019 • Couples
We had the most incredible time with Luciano at the estancia in El calafate! It was located in the most beautiful location just out of the town and Luciano picked us up and everything. Luciano was nothing but helpful and went above and beyond to help us and was so accommodating! The entire experience was amazing, we had the best time with the horses and we saw the most incredible views from the ride!!! It provides such a special, personal view of the surroundings and everything and Luciano made it so special for us!
Luciano's hospitality, kindness and accommodating nature was amazing and created the most amazing trip with us with the best views of the entire region and glacier in panoramic view! Thanks so much!

What an amazing day! Even had the change to tame a (semi) wild horse and may called him Peluca. He is now part of the stable so you can choose riding him! No experience needed at all. Muchas gracias Luciano y Augustino for the horse riding, the amazing views and the great asado!

Memorable trip
Jan 2019 • Family
Luciano is amazing, very professional and kind. We communicated through email to set everything up.

My family still thinks fondly of this trip we took back in January, and I'd say it was just as fun as the Perito Moreno Minitrekking tour. For all my English speaking friends, this trip would be a little better if you travel with someone that speaks Spanish as Luciano and his partner's English are not quite there. Luckily, since these tours are group tours (ours was 9 people), you might end up with someone that speaks Spanish. All in all, Spanish helps a LOT in this part of the world.

Great Day of Riding
Dec 2018 • Couples
What a great day! Luciano is amazing. He picked us up from our hotel and drove us about an hour to the estancia. Luciano got the horses ready while we took in the outdoors. Then we jumped on the horses and went for a ride. It was amazing to see Perito Moreno from afar (we were going kayaking there the next day) and gorgeous views around the rest of the ride. The food for lunch was delicious as well. Luciano made us a great steak sandwich.
FYI - Luciano doesn't speak great English (we had someone on our tour who was translating for us luckily) but he's so amazing and a true gaucho that it doesn't matter. Authentic experience
