We did this excursion plus the additional one to Lake Frías with Turisur. In reality, the tour consists of organizing a series of transfers, since the guides do not tell anything about the place but only guide people to go from one transport to another.
First we went by bus to Puerto Pañuelos. From there by catamaran to Puerto Blest with a beautiful landscape of snow-capped mountains, a journey that lasts one hour. From there by bus to Puerto Alegre, where we take the catamaran to navigate Lake Frías for about 15 minutes, which has an incredible green color. In Puerto Frías we got off for a few minutes and returned by catamaran to Puerto Alegre and from there by bus to Puerto Blest. There they give you time to have lunch in a restaurant where you can buy and also use the tables to eat if you bring a snack. From there, catamaran to Puerto Cántaros (5 minutes) where you take a walk along a wooden walkway uphill to the 3 viewpoints of the waterfall. The walk takes about 1 hour round trip if you go to the end, which we didn't do because of the rain. The waterfall is beautiful. From there, return by catamaran to Puerto Pañuelos, to take the bus to the city center.
In total there are 9 ups and downs to means of transport. We left at 8:30 in the morning and arrived back at the center at 7 p.m.
I had a horrible day with heavy rain throughout the day, which made the walk complicated since we got very wet from one transport to another and we could barely take photos in a hurry. A few years ago we did it without rain and it was more enjoyable.
If you do not buy the additional fee to Lago Frías you can stay in Puerto Blest walking or sitting in the restaurant.
The landscapes are divine even in the rain, but it is not enjoyable because you cannot spend much time outdoors. And I would have liked the guide to tell things about the place on the bus trips to add something extra to the ride and not just admire the wonderful nature of the place.
The catamaran we had was old and uncomfortable. I don't know if there are better ones. The seats next to the window have little space to rest your feet due to the shape of the boat and the water from the heavy rain was seeping in and there were leaks in several places. On top of that it was very full and there was no way to move and get comfortable.
In short, the lakes, the snowy mountains and the divine waterfall, the uncomfortable boat and the horrible weather. They told us that it rains 270 days a year there so it is normal to visit it in the rain, but with lighter rain and a more comfortable boat I would have enjoyed it more.

It is a nice walk but expensive for what it is, there were 4 of us and only 2 of us were able to enjoy it since in addition to hiring the Frias lake we could climb the stairs without problems (it is done well without problems if you do not have any mobility problems)
Keep in mind that if you do not hire the Frias Lake option and since it is snowy or icy, the terrain does not allow you to walk much, the wait is at the restaurant (the only thing there is to enter, at least in May) and it was freezing. because they didn't turn on the heating until the Frías lake excursion came back with most of the people, it seemed like it was like a penance because you didn't buy the other excursion, the unfortunate truth is that you pay like 100 dollars and they do this to you (130 if you do it with Frias Lake) 2 of our group enjoyed the excursion and the other 2 people suffered because they did not go to Frias Lake nor did they climb the waterfall stairs because they had some mobility problem and they ignored the wait in the frozen restaurant while it lasted the Frias Lake excursion.
The advice would be to do it if you could do it completely and choose a nice day, as I put in the title, it seemed overrated to me for what it means, but I recognize that the landscapes you see are beautiful.

If I could rate this tour out of 1000 I would. Leaving the port in front of the Llao Llao hotel, about 1 hour sailing on a catamaran, we arrive in Puerto Blest. With a wonderful view of the mountains, we walked on some trails and went to Cascada Los Cântaros (3 min by boat) and climbed around 700 (!!!) steps to the last viewpoint. It's incredible to walk and discover the Valdivian Forest and its beauties, it's a trip you won't regret. This tour lasts all day and adding the Frías Lake tour costs $55,000 with Turisur (the only one offering this tour) and is totally worth it, especially on sunny days.

The excursion is extremely expensive. If it rains, don't do it. You don't enjoy anything and the navigation doesn't last 2 hours. One hour to get to Puerto Blest and another to return, since the Cantaros waterfall takes only 5 minutes to navigate from Puerto Blest. Although they offer Lago Frías (not included in the itinerary) this excursion takes no more than one hour... there are more than two hours left and the only thing to do is wait at the bar for the departure time to be met. I repeat, I do not recommend doing it when there is bad weather.

A lake excursion of those that you keep forever, one that makes you think a lot about whether it is worth it and that leaves you calm when you return after having made the investment. I suggest taking the optional Lago Frías and going for everything. It gives an interesting plus to the trip, with other colors, a unique history and a renewed infrastructure. 70 years ago, Guevara and Granados passed through here aboard La Poderosa. Use your free time for walks with food in hand, don't stop at the restaurant. Go prepared not to give up a minute and be very comfortable enough to see Los Cántaros Lake and the ancient Alerzal after the 752 steps. The catamaran is first class. The transfer to Puerto Pañuelo can be done in a private vehicle and leave the car at the port paying a reasonable parking fee. If you are Argentine, bring your ID so that the entrance to the National Park that is paid at the port will charge you the resident rate.

Puerto Blest and Cascada de los Cántaros: both beautiful. I do not recommend doing the optional one to Puerto Alegre and Lake Frías, which, in my opinion, take away the charm of the experience.
The guide Cecilia was warm, professional, and demonstrated willingness to solve a problem that arose with the transfer from Puerto Blest to Puerto Alegre (Lake Frías).

Beautiful excursion, the guides are very professional, the waterfall is beautiful, the stairs are very comfortable, you have to climb many meters, it is not for people with physical difficulties
In summer, if you go on the trail, be careful of tobacco, which is very annoying, do not wear perfume and carry a repellent.
I would visit it again, the cold views of the lake are like a movie, they are etched in the retina

It is a beautiful excursion in both winter and summer. In each of those stations it has a different appeal.
The catamaran tour is very good and you will admire the landscape. The waterfall of Los Cártaros is wonderful, of course it cannot be done by those who have mobility problems.
If you do not hire the excursion to Lago Frias, you can walk to Puerto Frias and enjoy the scenery and listen to the river that runs beside the road.

The place is wonderful. Worthy of being visited. From the beginning of the sailing excursion you can see incredible landscapes. Puerto Blest is beautiful. Walking to Puerto Alegre allows you to see tributaries of the river with a crystalline emerald green color that is unique. Cascada de los Cántaros another beauty that is worth it. It is worth the climb of each of the 700 steps to find an incredible lake and a unique waterfall

We found it very boring. Especially if you have already seen more of Patagonia.
Would be bilingual, Spanish and English.
But English explanations were hardly heard or not at all. It is very noisy on the boat, especially the Argentinian announcer who explains everything in Spanish in a deafening voice. (So not in English).
1 hour of sailing and then 4 hours of fun.
Then after waterfall. And another 1.5 hour wait.
