Looking for an adventure around Bariloche. Look no further than Juan from Andemita Wilderness Specialsts. We did a 3 day/2night hut to hut trek from Cerro Catedral to Frey hut to Jacob hut and back down. A truly awesome adventure. From descriptions of the blooming spring flowers to the knowledge of the local birds, local trail conditions, Juan seemingly knew it all. He packed snacks and tasty lunches, a different one every day. Oh and he has the gear you need as well, packs, sleeping bags, snowshoes, crampons etc. From breaking trail in the snow to cheering us on, and an awesome video compilation after we returned, Juan really does it all. All the while sharing his infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors in as safe a fashion as possible! This trek was not easy, with about 21 hours of strenuous hiking during the 3 days, some of it was quite challenging. Juan is there with you, coaching you as needed. Staying in the huts was just that little touch of luxury that made it even sweeter. I feel very fortunate to have connected with Juan. He is that blend of personality, professionalism and passion for the mountains that absolutely completes the experience.

We had an excellent full day Kayak tour with Juan Carlos from Andemita around Lake Moreno and Lake Morenita in Bariloche.

Juan Carlos planned a route to show us the highlights of the lakes taking into account the weather on the day and ensuring a fun and interesting tour.

Juan Carlos is fluent in English and very informative about the region and flora and fauna.

The warm, tasty empanadas and Malbec for lunch was a very nice touch.

We would highly recommend booking with Andemita and Juan Carlos as a tour guide and would definitely use Andemita again next time we are in Bariloche.

We did a 3 day hike with Juan, to Refugio Grey, across to Jakob and back down to Bariloche. Amazing experience. Definitely needed a guide to get across the snow from Grey to Jakob. Juan was great company, we felt very safe with him and he encouraged us all the way. First day is a relatively easy 10km uphill to the first Refugio fuelled by food carried by Juan. Refugio Grey is pretty basic but food is good. Next day was an 8 hour trek, lots of snow trekking, steep descents over scree and boulders, and 2 short river crossings without bridges requiring boots off and very cold water up to your knees. Jakob was fabulous, a long walk to the bathrooms but comfy and good food. Next day was a lovely 18km gentle descent to Bariloche. Highly recommend this tour company, Juan is clearly very experienced and we would love to go back and try the kayaking and more hiking.

Juanca was our guide and instructor on a Aysen Chilean mountaineering expedition. Throughout the whole time Juanca ensured the team wellbeing and safety whilst instructing us and educating us on living and respecting the wilderness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Juan Carlos to coordinate your outdoor experience. Fantastic.

Our whole family had a blast on our hike with Juan. The hike was challenging at times but our conversations with Juan were both informative and engaging. He was professional, on time and immediately made us feel comfortable. He had all the gear and food we needed and at one point filled our bottles with water straight from a nearby waterfall. The positive reviews he gets are 100% true. We truly believe you will enjoy your adventure with Juan wherever that may take you.

A most amazing day hike to Bella Vista with snow on the tops and early mountain orchids in the Beech forest. Fabulous support from Juan Carlos for the long hike then slower day with easy walks and sight seeing. Highly recommended.

We were driven by Juan Carlos to various stunning viewpoints around Bariloche. This included Playa Bonita, a chairlift to the top of Campanario Hill and Punto Panoramico. We enjoyed a hike in the Liao Liao Peninsula and a cup of fruit tea. The brewery was perfect for lunch. Overall a very interesting, enjoyable and informative day.

Juan Carlos Quierolo gave us the best guide experience you could imagine! He thought of everything from greeting us when we arrived to escorting us on several ski adventures and making sure we had top of the line ski equipment to rent to arranging the most delicious dinners in unique restaurants and homes. He tended to our every need. And he is so personable and kind and funny. You will love him . . . like we do!

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed an amazing day of trekking with Juan Carlos and Andemita. Juan Carlos is a great guide and particularly adept at assessing your ability level and guiding you to maximize your experience. He is very personable, patient and encouraging. There is no chance we would have been able to share this hike with our daughter without Juan Carlos and Andemita.

A friend who recently visited Bariloche recommended Juan Carlos to us. We were late in reaching out to set up plans but he was terrific and found us a guide. He met us at our hotel and introduced us to our guide, Lark. She was perfect for our family of novice kayakers. Lark showed us a great day on the lakes and brought us a delicious lunch of empanadas, tortes and deserts. She also introduced us to the tradition of sharing Yerba Mates. The whole day was delightful! We hope to get back there in the future and see Juan Carlos and Lark again.
