fantastic tour

Fantastic tour, our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and even told us a lot of information in English (though the tour was Spanish). Highly recommended, and the children in our group enjoyed it too.

We went here today with our 3 year old son and had the most beautiful afternoon! Very nice and knowledgeable guide Sebastien and breathtaking views, nature and ofcourse the caves! It’s great to see the contrast with the nature here and the Bariloche area. Highly recommended and nice to do with children too!

Extremely interesting and beautiful

We went on a Sunday morning with our 3 children (ages 6, 8 and 10) and it was a wonderful experience for the whole family. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. It is a short enough hike for everybody to enjoy. The views are amazing and we really learned about how man kind used to leave a few hundred years ago. The highlight of the hike was the last cave. Even when the entrance to the cave is challenging for big adults (you have to crawl into the cave through a narrow opening) I am very glad we all did because it takes you to a beautiful, deep, dark cave that even has a small lagoon of fresh water. I would not recommend going in there if you have thick body structure, and definitely if you dislike enclosed spaces. When in doubt about wether you would fit or not, I would trust the guide's judgement. Do not miss it!

Very interesting

You will visit 3 caverns and see aspects of flora, fauna and geology of the caverns. From the caverns, there is a very beautiful seeing of Bariloche and the guide is very useful with information about the place.

Delightful guide, exciting visit to 8000+ yr old caves

The Cerro Leones Cavernas is an awesome contrast to the lush green and blue backdrop that is Bariloche. Our guide Miguel was knowledgeable, funny, and passionate about these historic mountains/caves, which made us enthusiastic about the experience. Highly recommend it!

Interesting, but it needs an english speaking guide

A nice cave very near to Bariloche. It's a pity that the guide didn't speak english at all. Awesome view from the top.The trick is take pictures with flash and the paintings will shown better.

Tour only in Spanish
If you go on a group tour you can have it in English, otherwise the tour is just in Spanish. I'm sure it's a great tour if you speak Spanish but otherwise no point going

If you speak only English don't go.

Cavernas del Viejo Volcan Parque Cerro Leones promised us a bilingual guided tour. The guide had limited English skills, especially when explaining the history and geography of the area. Explanations in Spanish that took three or four minutes were reduced to a few words of English. The site is not particularly impressive, the limited pictographs are almost not visible. The crawl into the deepest cavern is difficult for older people and not worth the effort. All in all a waste of an afternoon in Bariloche.

The guide, Sebastian, was a fountain of knowledge and was a delightful young man. If you get the opportunity, it is well worth it!
