This trip was re-arranged from 2020 because of the COVID pandemic & completely exceeded our expectations.
We had a 9 day road trip with Jorge and two like minded fellow guests. We ski toured areas around Bariloche, Villa Angostura , San Martin de los Andes and finished in Baguales mountain reserve.
We were lucky to have mainly blue sky days , views were outstanding & ski touring experience fabulous. Jorge organised great accommodation throughout, did the all the driving and tailored the ski routes to suit conditions & our ability.
When finalising plans for the 2022 trip , we decided to extend our ski touring trip by a further 4 days and Jorge managed to organise a guide for us. Martin was a super guide and we explored further areas such as Cerro Lopez and El Bolson .
We highly recommend Andescross and will be getting back in contact with Jorge to arrange another ski touring trip next year.

Our 7 day trek through Nahuel Huapi with Andescross was the highlight of our 2-week trip to Argentina. Our guide, Alan Schwer, surpassed our expectations with his knowledge of the mountains, vegetation and wildlife. My husband and I joked that hiking with Alan was like hiring a much cooler friend for the week who gave us credibility with the locals on trails and in Refugios, helped bridge the gap when there was a language barrier, entertained us during down time, led us to the best daily *bonus* hikes and effortlessly navigated the steep terrain.

The hiking became more dynamic and the views more spectacular each day. Alan paid close attention to our fitness levels and capacity for endurance. He kept the hiking pace consistent, checked in with us frequently to make sure we were comfortable and gave us the opportunity to do extra hikes nearly every day of the trek. My husband and I were the perfect level of exhausted each night and finished the days by soaking our tired feet in alpine lagunas, trash-talking through multiple rounds of card games and exchanging stories with Alan.

Jorge communicated with me via email consistently in the months leading up to our trip and made sure we had exactly the right gear for our trek when we arrived in Bariloche.

By day 7… we had forgotten we ever had lives outside of the Andes Mountains. Only an hour passed after our trip concluded and we were already feeling melancholy about Alan and the trek! So we met back up with Alan and Jorge that night for beers in Bariloche and daydreamed about buying real estate along Lago Nahuel Huapi and moving to Argentina.

This was the trip of a lifetime and we're already looking into new treks to explore with Andescross on a return trip.

Muchas MUCHAS gracias, Jorge and Alan!

Me and my wife are intermediate backcountry skiers and the trip with guide Ramiro and Andescross was great for us. Although snow conditions wasn't the best at the time Ramiro did his best for us to enjoy the trip. Ramiro was a great teachers so we got not only a great trip but also a lesson that we will have use for going forward. The accommodations at Frey was a great experience and the people there were super nice. We would recommend this trip to all people who enjoy an adventure on the mountain.

We spent two days at Refugio Frey with a husband and wife guide team that were fantastic! Our family has very Little Rock climbing experience and the weather conditions were mixed, but they found fun climbs for us that were reasonably well protected from the worst weather and my older daughter (13 y/o) and I got to try our first multi-pitch. They were super knowledgeable, patient, safety conscience and very welcoming/friendly. We would love to come back in the winter for a ski trip!

I have skied with Andescross both i during a hut-to-hut trip out of Refugio Frey and a Volcanoes trip in Chile. First time with Jorge, and then with Jorge and another guide. Jorge is a talented and attentive guide, making sure that everyone is doing well and enjoying the trip. Jorge has a good sense of humor, making trips with him a fun experience! I highly recommend Jorge and his firm Andescross.

Andescross provided an outstanding group of guides & porters for our group on a five-day backpack in the mountains west of Bariloche. The routes were gorgeous and the support they provided regarding the terrain, the trail, the camps, and the company along the trail was just outstanding. Every individual from Andescross was highly competent and contributed to the delight and safety of each member of our party of pretty experienced backpackers. I’d love to go on another trip they supported.

Jorge did an amazing job guiding our group on the Haute Route. We had a large group with a wide range of experience levels, and Jorge ensured everyone was safe while still having fun. His experience in the mountains and with the local area is a huge advantage as we had to change our plans several times due to heavy snow and low visibility. That knowledge allowed our group to safely take advantage of the late season powder and see some other small towns, while other groups had down days in the high alpine huts. Jorge's focus on safety and fun upbeat attitude make him one of the best.

Highly recommend Andescross and Jorge for your next adventure!

I had so much fun with Jorge!! We went climbing near Refugio Frey outside of Bariloche, Argentina. He met me exactly where I was at with rock climbing. I told him that I wanted to try my first multi pitch climb and we did one that was perfect for my skill level. We tried a few other climbs including crag, but my favorite was the slab sport climbing. I learned a lot about the gear and knots and cannot wait to learn more about this sport. I felt safe the entire time and genuinely enjoyed hearing stories from Jorge’s years of experience. When the weather was bad, he had backup plans and was extremely accommodating. If I am back in Argentina, I’m going to use Andescross again.Thank you!!

Jorge and Andecross helped us plan exactly what we were looking for with a backcountry ski touring trip in Argentina. Jorge was so responsive and accommodating throughout the planning process and ensured we had everything we needed to perfectly suit our needs. Pablo was an incredible mountain guide who found great snow, kept everyone safe, was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, and balanced different abilities within the group perfectly. Our trip was a huge success thanks to the team at Andescross!
