We decided to experience the forest and did the 2 hour hike each way to the tip of the peninsula. They charge a small fee for entry, around $100 pesos for tourists. Once you get to the end there are like two small but beautiful beaches. We jumped into the freezing water. Don't recommend it! LOL The hike back at the end there is a very steep part that felt like forever. Over all a good experience.

Can take the Boat tour from Bariloche's Puerto Panuelo for about US$50-$60 equivalent or from Villa La Angostura for about US$35 roundtrip. If going from Villa La Angostura, some people walk the 13 kilometers (about 7 miles) one way and take the boat one way.

It was chilly when I was there, so I took the boat both ways. Once we got to the tip of the park where the Bosque de Arrayanes trees were, I walked about 10 minutes (1/2 kilometer of the 13 km trail) and then doubled back and did the 30 minute circuit around the Bosque (forest of Arrayanes trees). Walk was fairly easy on wood planks with a few stairs up and down every so often. That gave me another 10 minutes to hang out on the beach and dock before boarding the boat back to the Port at Villa La Angostura.

The boat ride was beautiful - gorgeous fjord like area with the andes in the distance. Glad I had my jacket and a hat. Also rained a little bit. Could sit on open air top deck on boat or inside with picture windows. There were bathrooms on the boat & at the Arrayanes park. The park also had a cafe but was crowded when two boats landed. Suggest bring water and snack.

There are also restaurants and a small crafts fair at Villa La Angostura Port where you catch the boats. A collectivo bus runs from the Port to Villa La Angostura Bus Terminal / downtown area every 2 hours or so for only about 10 ARS. Or can catch a taxi for about US$5 equivalent. There is what seems to be an official currency exchange place with good rates across from the grocery store in downtown Villa just a few blocks from the helpful city tourist office. If you take the boat from Bariloche, there is a restaurant/snackbar at the port. The Bariloche trip takes all day and stops at Victoria Island too. The boat trip from Villa La Angostura can be done round trip in 1/2 day.

Highly recommended.

These trees are only found here so worth going just for that though if you're expecting something more than that don't go. On the other hand the trip by boat is worth it for the scenery alone. The whole area is beautiful.

Came to Bariloche 1 day before spring and had the pleasure of seen the "Bosque Arrayanes" while snowing! The sights were beautiful and the snow created a great constrat with all the nature colors.

We went to the Arrayanes wood , when we stayed in Villa La Angostura in Le Lac Inn. We took the Patagonia Argentina boat in Brava Beach ,was a 45 minutes trip ,once there we had a one hour walk tour , with a guide through the Arrayanes ,very interesting talk . We brought a picnic with us , as whe knew were coming back walking ,but we stopped in the nice ""cafeteria "" , to drink a hot chocolate .
we walk back 12 kilometres , very nice walk , and soft , you should look for the lagoon on the way , as is not in the main trail . Was really worth to visit .

A must-see excursion in San Carlos de Bariloche, it integrates the tour with Isla Victoria and lasts almost a day while there is light.
Very nice tour, without major difficulty, it is necessary to hire it with a company because it is a protected area, it departs by catamaran from Puerto Pañuelo and it is a nice refreshment for the senses and to admire a landscape of enormous beauty in Argentina.

We visited this site with a Turisur excursion combined with Victoria Island. The catamaran first visited the Arrayanes Forest. The visit consists of walking about 700 meters along a wooden walkway seeing these wonderful trees of different shapes and that characteristic color. We had a fairly cold day with sleet at times, but on this section of the walk it didn't rain and we were able to enjoy it. I must say that 14 years ago I took this same walk and the trees had a more intense, more vivid color. Now they look a little more opaque and lackluster. In any case, it is a highly recommended walk, not only through the forest but also because of the catamaran ride, which is also very nice.

Beautiful place, with planks and steps. Option of alternative ramp and 'smooth' area to go with a wheelchair, although WITH HELP since it is not easy, there is mud and significant inclinations, but 'it can be done'. We went with the company CAU CAU which was EXCELLENT.
