Good but plan your trip
Mar 2020
JudypHHI has it right (see review below): the highlights of this forest are at the end of the peninsular (the Arrayanes forest itself) and the boar trip there or back. The 12km walk is pleasant and is through some lovely trees but it is largely enclosed by the forest so there are very few good view (almost all being at the town end of the walk). Hence, the best approach is probably to walk from the neck of oeninsular, having first bought tickets for a boat trip back from the far end.

Incidentally, we concluded that the boats that run on the east side of the peninsular (ie in the bay give better views than those that run on the west side. However, since we only took one on the east side, we can’t be sure.

Long trail through forest
Feb 2020 • Couples
We enjoyed this 3 hour long walk, 12 km one way. We would recommend walking the trail first from the town and then boating back. Otherwise the highlights are all at the beginning if you boat first, see the large arrayanes and then have a pleasant but nothing spectacular 3 hour trek. Otherwise, take the boat ride both directions and spend 20 to 30 minutes enjoying the unusual cluster of trees.

Magical

A very small National park within the bigger park—just gorgeous! A very short -quarter mile?-walk thru an unusual forest of special myrtle trees with beautiful orange bark

Challenge...Yet Fun Trekking n Biking
Feb 2020 • Couples
Enjoyed something different as a couple over 50...challenged ourselves to go Biking on this Hiking Trail with Bicycles in hand. First kilometer up after paying at the booth is the most difficult and challenging. Even though many do it anyways. You have to climb steep hills and not ride until you pass the 1st kilometer and even then you have off and on riding. At first we didn’t think we would complete the challenge but then at the end it felt like an accomplishment for us. We were happy we completed the 12 kilometer ride, hike, trek and carry your bicycle challenge. Very scenic and peaceful location. We were told that we could either ride back for another 12 kilometers or take the Catamaran back. We chose the Catamaran for the water experience and option of relaxing. Would certainly do it again and perhaps the whole 24 kilometers with Bicycle! Highly recommend taking plenty of water as there aren’t any fountains or ways to find water until you complete the trail...and there are no restrooms through out the trail, you have to rely on nature’s surroundings for that...so be prepared!

Great day!
Jan 2020 • Couples
We took the boat over and completed the hike in 2 1/2 hours. Thoroughly enjoyed this easy hike. Appreciated the shade as it was quite warm. Most of the bike riders are considerate, but there’s always that 2% that are rude. The wildflowers are just beautiful. It’s not challenging but after some long, hard hikes we were in the mood for this. After the hike, treat yourself to a drink or coffee at Mirador Social Club. Amazing views!!

13km trail, can walk or rent bikes to do the trails. Suggest to bring water and proper clothing. Some section are steep hikes but worth the effort.

24 km fun hike . Worth the effort
Jan 2020 • Couples
Good hike in the park . Be prepared for varied terrain . Good physical condition needed . Bring walking poles for the steep , slippery parts . Fun to do . Bikes can be rented for the more adventurous type . No toilets en route but a little cafe at the end of the first part . 12 km each way but one can walk 12 km and return to the little town via boat . 2 boats offer the service . Worth doing & it is one of the only hikes to do around villa la angostura. Free parking on the street .

Contrary to popular opinions

The way from Bariloche to Villa Angostura is just incredible! However, the hike is quite long, while there is absolutely no view of the lake although you hike above it! It’s a 12 km, 3 hrs with no breaks, of not strenuous walk however not interesting or carried. We saw a few kinds of wildflowers and in the end the Arrajjanes trees were disappointing. I would advise to take a boat in and out if one really wants to see the trees. A nice hike but really not a must!

Beautiful views (WARNING: park will close in case of bad weather)
Nov 2019 • Friends
We took the 11 am Bahia Mansa catamaran (bay route) vs the Bahia Brava catamaran. It was one hour, smooth with the inner views (cliffs on the right and upscale houses and mountains on the left). The hike was as advertised 12 Km. Recommend you leave time at the start (30 mins) to do the tea house loop before heading out. Also recommend you leave time at the end (30 mins) to so the two miradora at the end. Flat and easy wise trail to start. Two medium steep uphill sections in the midway point (7 km or so) and one very steep section at the end.
