About
Welcome aboard !! If you have passion for sailing and adventure, join us to sail in a spectacular natural environment: the Nahuel Huapi Lake, in the Argentine Patagonia!. Within a massive protected National Park, the lake offers unpolluted water, amazing islands, harbors and coasts surrounded by mountains, teeming wildlife and natural beauty. Sailing experience is not required, the captain will take care of all sailing operations. Otherwise, we have specially designed introduction sailing trips. It will be a relaxing and fun time. We only take small groups out sailing to keep the necessary freedom to play as a team, catching the winds and trimming the sails. Safe, eco-friendly and fun !!!

Can't say anything but good things about the 5 hour sailing trip we did with Ernesto! The sailing included a stop at the Arryanes forest which I'd highly recommend. (It makes a lot of sense to work this into the sailing trip as opposed to organizing a separate visit to the forest).

Felt very comfortable and safe in Ernesto's hands - great conversation - amazing views...this is the way to see the lake district!

Enrique provides a very nice tour at the lake, he explains the rule of navigation, the rules of the national park, explains the vegetation and other interesting facts about the lake and Argentina; lastly, he is great with kids too!!!

We took the group sailing trip to the tip of Bosque Arrayanes Park. Captain Ernesto is a skilled sailor and very entertaining, knowledgeable, personable individual. The trip is a wonderful alternative to the catamaran, reasonably priced and peaceful. The boat accommodates up to seven, but there were only four in our group. The scenery was terrific and winds reliable. In addition, I got to sail the boat. A great way to get to the end of the peninsula and do the one-way hike back to town. If you are in Villa La Angostura, it is an activity I highly recommend.

My husband and I drove from Bariloche to Villa La Angostura to go on a 5-6 hour sailing excursion with Ernesto. From the moment we met him ("We kiss in Argentina") we were completely charmed and at ease. Neither of us had ever been on a sailboat before, and neither of us speaks Spanish, so we opted for a private tour with the objective of learning more about sailing and about the area. The day we chose (January 29) was clear and exceptionally calm so Ernesto used the motor to take us on a tour of beautiful residences, inns and private clubs located in the harbors between Villa La Angostura and the Arrayanes Forest. He timed our visit to this famous forest so that we had it practically to ourselves as we walked around the boardwalk and snapped many photos. The public area of this island is fairly small, so doing it with Ernesto is definitely very much superior to doing it on a large boat where the walk in the forest would be crowded with other passengers. After we departed Ernesto took us to a very private spot where we climbed onto a large rock looking down onto a beautiful beach. We then had a gourmet lunch consisting of cheese and bread, smoked trout, salmon, and venison, and a bottle of Torrontes wine that we brought on his recommendation. Delicious! By mid-afternoon the wind had picked up and my husband did a fine job steering the sailboat (with Ernesto's instruction and occasional assistance) around the lake and back to port, keeping it nearly perfect at 15 degrees. Since neither of us had ever experienced this wonderful feeling of freedom as we sped through the water silently on the wind, this day was one of our best during our two weeks in the Bariloche area. Had the excursion consisted of merely sailing, it would have been a highlight. However, Ernesto made the trip so much more than sailing. During the whole outing, he shared so many aspects of his life with us that we felt we knew him and Argentina much better as a result. This was truly a day to remember, If we return to Villa La Angostura, we will contact him again for another excursion with Patagonia Sailing. Very highly recommended!

We are so glad we found Ernesto's company for the 4-5 hour sailing trip out to the Arrayan Forest. Ernesto is a great host, very accommodating to both the Hispanic and Anglophone guests on the boat. His English is great, and he gave useful and interesting information during the trip. This is a way better method than the catamarans, which have tons of people on them (8 max on this sailboat- very private!). I can't emphasize enough how beautiful the scenery is. This is THE perfect way to take in the Lake District. We came here to do the 7 lakes route, but this was our favored experience. A couple of tips: bring lots of sun screen, bring lunch and water, and while the Arrayan forest is lovely, it's quite pricey (80 pesos for non-Argentines) and maybe not worth it. It's just a set of catwalks through the forest, takes no more than 15 min to walk. We would have been just as happy to wade in the water during that 30min stop. But all around, a wonderful experience with Ernesto. Do this trip for sure!

Ernesto approached us near the catamaran dock in Villa La Angostura enquiring if we were interested in a sailing trip. The price offered was quite reasonable and with a group of only 4, was a very pleasant alternative to the busy catamaran. Due to poor wind conditions, we motored on the way out, passing through several scenic bays on the way; also saw lots of birds including steamer ducks. When we arrived at the Los Arrayane park (around 5pm), all the other catamarans had left so we had the place to ourselves (also the ranger had left...) - much recommended! The park is well worth a visit, the trees are somewhat similar to Eucalyptus. The walk to/from the park would also be quite good, despite the exorbitant national park entry fee.

If you have a chance to sail with Patagonia Sailing, GO!!! Captain Ernesto was outstanding. We were a party of six and enjoyed the sunny day and the Nahuel Huapi lake. Ernesto is an expert, he knows so much about sailing, the lake and the landscape. And he was so good with the teens that were able to sail and helped raise and lower the sails. The winds picked up a little when arriving to Puerto Arrayanes and we felt like we were in a sailboat race!
When returning to Villa La Angostura Ernesto decided to drop the anchor at Bahia Lynch for lunch and he provided a nice "picada" with Patagonia's gourmet delicacies you can see in the pictures how we enjoyed the moment.
After five hours of the trip we returned to Bahía Mansa tired but really happy. This is the second time we sail with Ernesto and for sure there will be a third. Thank you very much!

Captain Ernesto is very personable and sensitive to his guests sailing ability. In the morning we flew down the bay under spinnaker and main, had a great asado for lunch, then beat back up to return to port.

What a day! Ernesto was our captain, and very helpful and accommodating. He was very knowledgable and friendly, providing coca-cola, mate, and a few other drink options on the boat. It was a small group which allowed for a more personal experience. We motored on the way out because of poor wind conditions, stopped briefly at the beautiful Arrayanes Forest, then went to a "desert-island-looking" beach for lunch. Then on the way back he put yup the sail and it became even more of a blast! The lake is one of the most gorgeous I have ever seen, and I highly recommend everything about this company and experience. Also, a very reasonable price, which was an essential factor for my friend and me.
