Rio Correntoso is located in Villa La Angostura (Argentina) and is the effluent of Lago Correntoso (27 km2) into the Nahuel Huapi Lake (557 km2) with only 200-300 meters longitude. It is not easy to find because is down the highway and very short.
I recommend stopping especially if you are doing "The Seven Lakes" drive.
Great spot for fly fishing fans with big trouts especially when the river flows into the Nahuel Huapi Lake.
Though forbidden, young people jump from the bridge into the water which is extremely cold.
I liked the clarity of the water, the noise of the river and the landscape (looking at two lakes from one spot)

Just a 40 minute walk from the city center. No ticket required. Beautiful landscape by the lake and surrounded by mountains with snow cap.

It is just some water under a 200 ft bridge, don't give it a second thought, just drive over it. ..........

Very short river that connects Correntoso lake with Nahuel Huapi Lake. It has a bridge from where you can take pictures

A nice walk by the river with lovely views. Down the unpaved road you will come to a small beach from where you can hire kayaks as well .

We loved this short river with its emerald clear waters linking two lakes, thus giving them a rich green tonality.

It's worth taking the trouble to divert off the main road into Villa La Angostura if you can find the road in. As a number of reviewers have said there are no signs and the access is not obvious. From the north the entrance to the gravel road is on the right at the end of the metal crash barrier that runs along the main road bridge you have just crossed. Be ready to do a sharp U turn. It then goes down under the road bridge and there is parking on the left by a wooden footbridge. From the Villa La Angostura direction it is much easier but you have to spot the end of the barrier in time! Once there, it is a lovely spot to take photographs etc. In November the water was fast running and no sign of any fish etc. that others mention. Very beautiful even though many small rivers seem to claim to be the smallest in the world!

It's worth your while stopping at Rio Correntoso, the smallest river in the world, for a look. It's more tranquil than you'd expect looking at it from the road above. Lots of fat trout in the water below.

Best way to get there is to drive out of La Angostura (away from Bariloche) taking note of the road that leads down to the river on the left, just a bit before the bridge. Drive over the bridge and turn around when you can, drive back over the bridge and this time take the dirt road. That way you are on the right side of the road to take the turning easily. (Sounds slightly complicated but it's not!)

Lago Correntoso is a beautiful lake and you can drive or walk down to the playa at the end, where you get a beautiful view with mountain reflections in the lake.

This is approached by a short but rough road. It is a nice view of an old bridge and this very short "river" connecting the two lakes. We took a peep as it was recommended to us, but against the other outstanding views on the Seven Lakes Drive, it doesn't compare.
