It is the lake next to which the city of San Martín de los Andes is located. The dock area and the beach are very beautiful to walk and take photos of the lake, the snow-capped mountains and the different types of trees that are on the coast. We did not navigate the lake on this trip but there is an agency that makes trips through it to the Chachín Waterfall area. The ride is much more expensive than getting to the same place on a land excursion, but for navigation lovers it is a good option. People also swim on this beach in summer, which we couldn't do because we went in winter, but we were lucky enough to see snow on several occasions.

What can you say when you drive around this beautiful lake. Stunning views, very peaceful. We did not have time to go on a boat ride. Maybe next trip. We did enjoy having lunch while enjoying the magnificent view. Highly recommend.

I took the hike to the beach about 1.5 hrs away Also has several lookouts along the way. This is called an easy hike. But the first 30 minutes is all uphill and can be challenging Then have another hour to go downhill and across to get to beach. Ofcourse then you return. So it is not what I call easy. Well worth it. Lots pf views of ocean in first 30 min then go down into locals area with horses and sheep. Very nice. Alot of small placed to buy water or food from locals around there. Beach is very beautiful also. Mostly all rocks. Finding path is best taking right down the 40 road before get to beach. Starts off above a water plant.

It was very windy but the lake was still beautiful as always. There were small canoes and yachts by the lake that made it look more interesting in the photos. What was more beautiful was the scenic route 40 to this lake. Full of vibrant flowers all the way that make you wish to stop for photo taking every 5 minutes.

Finishing the fantastic "Ruta de los Siete Lagos", you'll reach the tiny town of San Martín de los Andes and its awesome "Lago Lácar". The nice Costanera Avenue limits town and lake. Its blue waters are an invitation for inner reflection and self enlightenment. Enjoy long walks and the pleasure of biking in San Martín de los Andes in Argentinean Patagonia. During winter months, "Lago Lácar" can be quite windy! But lovely, anyway! Enjoy!

Lacar lake is a very interesting place. It's a beautiful lake and a good place to chill. But if you want a small trekking you can take a path up to the mountain to the "Mirador" (30 minutes) and "La Islita" (1 hour). Personally one of the most fun activity to do in San Martin de Los Andes in summer.

The autumn colors reflected in the lake are wonderful. We walked along the beach, visited the viewpoints and took photos at the picturesque letters of San Martín de los Andes.
We also had lunch with a view of the lake.

Beautiful place. San Martin is a unique place. Here begins the road of 7 lakes, unmissable road to do.
You can also visit La Islita, recommended to go in the summer, either walking or by vehicle.

Mucha suerte!!
