Simply the most knowledgeable, attentive, and client focused, and LOW COST outfitter I have ever come across in my 40 years of fly fishing throughout the U.S. and 7 foreign countries. Owned by Pablo Zaleski, 50 year resident of San Martin de los Andes, Pablo speaks fluent English, knows every restaurant, lodging, guide, and cambio in the greater San Martin area. He not only booked us into first rate lodging, but was able to move us to alternate lodging (with no cancellation fee) to other lodging when a flash rainstorm muddied our river and again later when 90+ temps put the fish down on a third river. You will never find a 'Name' outfitter who has such intimate connections with the lodge owners to permit such early cancellation. Pablo, only uses 3 or 4 of the top guides in San Martin that meet his expectations for superb client service. He even coordinated all inter-country flight and car transportation so that travel couldn't have been easier.
On top of all that, fishing with Pablo, his right hand guides Lucas and Gustavo, was always fun! They know the rivers intimately and we caught literally a couple hundred trout in our 3 weeks in country. Do yourself a favor if you are planning a trip to Argentina to fish, at least phone Pablo before booking with another outfitter......you'll not only save money but get a better planned and flexible trip.

This was the third time my wife and I fished with Pablo Zaleski. He is the finest guide I have encountered. He is totally client oriented and works hard to make the entire experience perfect. The fish were spectacular and the experience was worth traveling half way around the world for the third time. Pablo is the best!

Pablo has been my husband's guide for many years. Enthusiastic, respectfull and highly professional at all times. This year for the first time we decided to go fishing as a family, with our three sons. Pablo taught them and went fishing with them with considerable patience and affection. In just a few days he taught them fly fishing which they now love, and also how to enjoy the amazing scenery and surroundings that Patagonia offers.
We caught lots of rainbows and several brown trout and are dying to go back and explore other rivers in search of.. the 'big ones'!
Thank you Pablo for your energy, care and good vibes - we enjoyed a really spectacular family week in truly amazing surroundings!

I have dreamed of fly fishing in Argentina since I was 10 years old and read about it in my dad’s copy of A.J. McClane’s Standard Fishing Encyclopedia. I am so glad I found Pablo Zaleski to help me realize my dream. He put together a great package for 3 days of fishing on the Collon Cura River. Despite some challenging weather conditions, Pablo knew where the fish were and the tactics to go after them. We caught big-shouldered rainbows in the main river that took us into our backing and caught (and lost) some beautiful brown trout in small side channels that required precise casting. The wide-open, remote, high desert landscape was just like I imagined it and we had the river almost to ourselves for the whole time – I felt like we had turned the clock back 45 years to that article that captured my imagination. In addition to his fly fishing knowledge, Pablo is an educated family man and can converse on a broad range of topics, which made for pleasant days on the water. I hope to have the opportunity to fish with him again in the future.

I was fortunate enough to spend my 50th birthday fishing with Pablo, his team, and three of my good buddies February 12th-20th! Choosing a location and guide in a foreign country is daunting and somewhat pressure filled when you are on point, and you've never been to the country or location. You want your friends to enjoy the experience and your hoping it's memorable for all. Sure, my buddies would support me and enjoy the trip regardless of the experience, but I really desired for everybody to enjoy this trip. Pablo and I hatched a plan for a 3 night camping trip on the Limay River, 2 nights of lodging at the Collun Cura Lodge fishing the Collun Cura, and 2 nights at the San Huberto Lodge fishing the Maleo River. To say the least Pablo nailed the trip in every way. The camping was wonderful and the food was amazing along the river. The lodges including facilities, food, and personnel were excellent. We felt welcomed by all. The fishing was great fun and the guiding excellent. I personally experienced my funnest day of fishing on this trip catching beautiful rainbows and some very nice browns in the 18-24 inch range. Me and my buddies all agreed this trip far exceeded our expectations. I'm so thankful I chose Pablo to lead the way for us. He's definitely a top rated guide and fisherman, but even more a classy dude and fine gentlemen. If your headed to this area of Patagonia me and my buddies would highly recommend Pablo. You won't regret it. I posted a few pictures of our trip. What a blast!

Do you have a headache because of the large number of guides to pick from the pool? No medication is needed; pick Pablo. He is a professional guide that will make sure you have a fun, exciting and unforgettable trip. Plus, if there's a fish in the river you will catch it! Also if someone in your group who doesn't fish, he has connections to provide other activities like hiking, horseback riding and birdwatching. Pablo loves what he does and it shows.

For my 50th birthday my wife gave a present of a fly fishing trip to Argentina. She wanted it to be the trip of a lifetime, and thanks to Pablo and all his care and expertise it was that and more! The entire family went--me, wife, daughter (12), and son (10). Pablo gave fantastic care and attention to all our needs. He provided professional (and safe!) transportation all the way from the time we landed in Argentina to the time we arrived at the estancia and back to the airport after our trip came to an end. Pablo also took very personal care to see that my wife and kids were well cared for while he and I fished; he had another guide dedicated to their excursions--fishing, hiking, exploring, what ever they wanted to do. As for the accommodations, Pablo selected the perfect estancia for a family with 2 kids--Quemquemtreu, complete with horses and gauchos and endless things to explore. And the fishing? It was fantastic!! Even though it was very windy, Pablo put me on some great fish and showed me how to perfectly get a fly to them. He knew where fish were laying, always had the perfect fly, and helped me get the perfect drift. I have been fly fishing for 20+ years and thought I knew how to do it, that is until I fished with Pablo. He taught me so much that I felt like a rookie, but he did it all while being very patient and understanding. If Pablo isn't the premier fishing guide in all of Patagonia, I'll eat my hat! My trip to Patagonia was all it could be and more, thanks to Pablo. It was so fantastic that I am going back again--one day. Our trip was wonderful. We had a fantastic time and made memories, and friends, we will treasure forever. Thank you, Pablo!

I returned to fish the middle Limay river again, only this time my brother joined me. Although the river was moody this time, Pablo didn't fail to find active fish for us and we ended up catching plenty of trout and having tons of fun!!
