Amazing donwwind with kites with friends from Villa La Angostura to Dina Huapi. We started in an island situated in front of Puerto Manzano and finished at the leeward end of the lake. We have a Motorboat supporting us during the adventure.

One of the most beautiful lakes we have visited. Lapping the foot of the Argentinian and Chilean Andes, this mass of deep blue/green water has crystal clear beaches, beautiful reed beds, impressive rocky outcrops, wonderful forests and trails rising up from its shores. An amazing place.

We fashioned our own tour on Lago Nahuel Huapi after catching the number 20 bus to Puerto Panuelo, checking out the various boat tour options, and opting for the 100-year-old Modesta Victoria.

The ship is a lovely old vessel for sailing the lake surrounded in history. The vessel was used recently by President Obama. So much oak, teak, brass, steel - a really step back in time. There were more modern glass-encased vessels available, but we wanted to walk the deck and get the wind in our faces - and we weren't disappointed.

Buying tickets at Puerto Panuelo and going alone is also a lot cheaper than opting for the package tours for Lago Nahuel Huapi on offer at mosts hotels.

We were lucky on the day we went because there were just two English-only speakers (us), so the lovely lady checking our tickets, Gabriella, apologised that there wouldn't be English commentary over the loudspeakers, or guided tours on the two stops - Isla Victoria and the Arrayanes Forest. We were fine with that, but didn't expect Gabriella to seek us out and give us our own personal commentary every now and then. She was wonderful and really enhanced our day on Lago Nahuel Huapi. Also, it meant we were free to roam as we wanted on both Isla Victoria and in the Arrayanes Forest - which was great.

The lake is beautiful. We took so many pictures. The boat, the Modesta Victoria has snacks and drinks on two decks, nice toilets, is comfortable, and fits the scenery wonderfully. Amazing day out. Recommended.

If you like the outdoors, water, mountains, changing sky, and nature, then this lake is a great choice to spend time.

We took a boat across the lake to Llao Llao which was a marvelous trip filled with great views at every turn. We saw light shafts, rainbows, water spouts, and stunning cloud formations.

A wonderful place to rest, sit, hike, boat, and contemplate the forces of nature.

One of the many beautiful lakes, Located in the State of Río Negro in the Argentinian Patagonia, and close to the Andes Mountains which runs all along the east, from North to South and divides Argentina from Chile. All the area Is the largest National Park in the country. All together lakes, woods and mountains offers the tourist lots of atractions. In winter abundant snow allows to ski in the majestic Cerro Cathedral. Located at the shore of the lake are the beautifull City of San Carlos de Bariloche and the world famous Villa La Angostura. In this towns tourist can find hotels, lodges, appartments, hostels, restaurants and pubs. Artesanal beer is a must. Hiking riding, sailing, rafting, skiyng, camping , trekking are some of the many activities tourists can enjoy. Food Is also amazing; chocolate, cakes, salmon, trout, veal, deer, cheese and other delicattessen.

3 days out at the lake were terrific. This place is still untouched and the wildlife around is fascinating. The hikes were trails in the middle of nowhere and I think it has still a huge potential. We came here with two other couples and one guide and chef who cooked very good. The lake is huge and the boat tour we took on the second day showed us the Andes chain, you have to see it. The camping was nice, especially as the nights were still warm. But, mosquitos were all over the place, that was the only disadvantage. Considering the 3 days spent in Nahuel, I think this was worth the investment as the other two couples were fun and the daily excursions did great, same for the closiness to the lake, the water is crystal clear and nice for fishing.

Final lake on the way to Bariloche. Great views of the Andes from both the front and back of the catamaran. There are some walking paths while waiting for the boat.

If you just want to go for a two hour boat trip round the lake, I strongly recommend you go with SailAway from the port opposite the civic centre. Run by Andres, its only P$290 pp for the trip.

Chair lift ride up the mountain is breathtaking by itself, but when you get to the top of the mountain....WOW! Rated one of the top 10 scenic views of the world, and I concur, it will leave you speechless. Bring a jacket, it can be very windy and chilly. I was disturbed to see scared young children being taken up in the chair lifts by their parents, several looking very nervous. Maybe needs an age requirement.....just sayin
