What we had expected was for this to be a trip to see the Elephant seals. We saw them at a distance for less than 5 minutes of this 3 hour cruise. We spent more time looking at the Town’s industrial pier than the seals. This is a cruise and everyone, bar us, had a lot of fun with the music and dancing on the way back.

Was on a cruise ship which stopped in Puerto Madryn. Some passengers went on a very long car ride to see penguins and others went to the penninsula to see shrubs and some wild animals. I decided to do somethign relaxing and not costly. This cattamaran docks on the same pier near the cruise ship although you have to walk out fo the pier to buy your ticket before your board. The cruise is an excellent option if it is a pretty day and you do not want to get in a car for such a long time to see penguins. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and although the boat does not come as closeto the shore as I thought it woudl to see the wildlife along the beaches it is a nice cruise. You will neen powerful binoculars if you want to see the seals or penguins. Dress warmly because once you are outside ont he bay it can get very windy and chilly. On the ay back tot he pier, there was a sort of audience participation show by the crew that was a bti crazy but fun. If you do not speak Spanish, do not worry, it is still fun to watch some fo the passengers dance and do crazy fun things to win prizes. I am glad I did this. There were a few of the cruise passengers who chose to take this cruise and we all agreed it was an excellent and reasonably priced option for the few hours our cruise ship was docked at Puerto Madryn.

Regina Australe is the name of a boat/catamaran that offers sightseeing tours of 3 hours at noon and dusk. It takes 3 hours each, you can see the waterfront of the city, then navigates a bit offshore where dolphin watching is very likely. The boat is brand new, the crew is very friendly and helpful and you can have fruitjuices, smoothies or other drinks or snacks on board.
