We arrived on a cruise ship, a couple of days before things started to go a bit crazy. The walk from the ship to the front is pretty unexceptional but it acts as a starting point. If you go to the right with the water behind you there isn’t a lot to see so my advice is to turn to the left. We walked about 6 miles in total along the front. There are a few statues and the like to see but frankly not a lot more.

Beautiful place to visit in the morning and afternoon at sunset. It is several blocks, they say it is the longest in Argentina. Spectacular view of the city from the pier. A dream panorama. If you are lucky you can see dolphins in the sea and cormorants and sea lions on the side walkways of the pier.
A recommended outing.

If it is really sunny taking an umbrella is good. There are local ferries coming and going and it is interesting to see how they tie up their ropes and put the gangplank out.

We arrived by cruise ship which docked at the end of the pier. We could not afford the expensive wildlife excursions so got the shuttle to the end to go walkabout in the town. The beach stretches south for probably a mile or so and is a nice stroll in the sun. It was very clean and flat.
The big bonus was when we decided to walk back up the pier to the ship. There were to our surprise a number of penguins swimming around yards from the walkway, and later back on the ship several sea lions in attendance. As one American couple next to us opined, “we have seen for free what the other cruisers paid 1000 dollars to see with a five hour return coach journey!”
I am not sure whether this happens all the time but it certainly made our day!

Cruise ships have been docking at this pier since January 1972, but when no ships are in port it is possible to walk from the shoreline. A concrete pier with views to the town and beach. A spot to watch seals and sea birds. No entrance fee.

Long concrete pier that is full of surprises. Firstly you get great views of the coast and then there are seabirds, some of which look like penguins but aren't and seals by the dozen, some swimming around others basking of the steps.

At the end of the cruise ship pier, very nice walk along the shore paralleling the main road in town. Nice statues along the path.

As we arrived on a cruise, the pier wasa must for us. The highlight were the seals, not a lot of them, but we did see a few in and out of the water. I wouldnt go out of my way to come by, but if you are there, do not rush it!

There's nothing extraordinary about this pier, but it's a nice place to hang out for a while, listen to the ocean and watch some boats come in and out.

You have to see what days you can visit because they close it when cruises come. If you like docks it is a nice place to walk, plus you can see elephant seals on the stairs, both adults and pups.
