An interesting 3 minutes at most. We were brought there by a tour guide. Tough to not fall asleep. Not a must see..

Like visiting Sain Ffagan in Wales

If you've been to the Welsh Folk Museum in Sain Ffagan, you will feel right at home in this small museum in Gaiman, Argentina. A little slice of life in times past. "The First House" is tucked away around a little corner of town, so you have to be looking for "the first house" in order to find it. It appears to be on its original site, and furnished with items appropriate to its mid-19th century origins. I would say locals have successfully tried to preserve this building as it was many years ago.

In my imagination, I'd think of a descendent of one of the original settlers, going now into the old family home, and saying, "Yes, that's the fireplace. All those rough stones. But I can run my hands over them, and I remember where every stone was."

The oldest house in Gaiman

Because this was the first house to be built in Gaiman by the Welsh settlers it was quite evocative. How hard life must have been. I was surprised by the dusty dirt floor.

We stopped at several locations in the Gaiman area on our tour from our Cruise ship. The history of the Welch people as they settled this area is interesting and well worth a visit.
