We booked a 2 day tour with Andes Challenge; online first in their website, and we completed the booking with Amanda's help (owner). It was a really easy process and Amanda was extremely helpful with us to make sure we had all our questions answered before confirming our booking.

As planned, the day before our tour we were contacted by our guide Facundo (owner. Amanda's husband) who the following morning picked us up from our hotel with Manuel (assistant guide). Their vehicle was a new 4x4 SUV with leather seats, aircon and great comfort. While we were driving Facundo shared great insights with us about Salta, the area, including history, flora, fauna, etc. Facundo is such an experienced and knowledgeable tour guide, we learned lots from him.

We proceeded to drive 3 hours to the start of our 1st downhill MTB ride: the Abre del Acay (Acay mountain pass) at 4,900m above the sea level ... OMG !! Bikes, helmets and gloves provided were in top condition, we quickly started the descent together with Manuel in the bike and followed by Facundo in his 4x4. It was an unsealed road, but totally safe. The most accelerating experience I've ever had in my life. The landscape is incredible, and some areas even look like the Grand Canyon.

After 3 hours of mostly the most exciting and challenging downhill ride, Facundo and Manuel served us a delicious picnic lunch to relax and refill our tanks. After that we proceeded to finish the ride and then they drove us to the historic and pintoresc town of Cachi to relax and spend the night. We loved the ride and loved Cachi !!!!

Next morning Facundo and Manuel picked us up in the morning and proceeded to the Cuesta del Obispo, and started our 2nd MTB downhill ride from almost 3,500m above sea level. Totally different terrain, and a sealed road for most of the way with an unsealed patch in the middle. Great ride for high speads, with lots of turns, and amazing views too. Once again the downhill finished with a delicious picnic lunch with local delicacies (eg. freshly baked bread, the most tasty goats cheese I've ever had, etc) served by Facundo and Manuel. After the relaxing lunch, recovered and with full tummies, they drove back to our hotel in salta.

We cannot compliment Andes Challenges enough for their tour. We had probably the most incredible experiences during these 2 days that will live in our memories forever.

Huge THANKS to Amanda, Facundo and Manuel from Andes Challenge.

Michael and Raul from the Shoalhaven, NSW, Australia.

Our guide, Facundo, has a very deep knowledge about nature, history and local culture; fantastic insights on how to enjoy everything at best; a great passion for sharing this immense beauty. He continuously took care of us with a warm, fun, always gentle presence, also offering options for solo exploration and reflection when it was the right time to do so. An extremely comfortable 4x4 car with a perfect driving style on these mountain roads contributed making going up and down on the Andes effortless, so that we could simply enjoy the spectacular landscapes. I was extremely lucky to experience Salta and Jujuy regions with you and I recommend Andes Challenge to who ever wants to visit this part of Argentina!

We, my husband an I, did a private tour of 7 days with Facundo Zambrano to explore the Salta region, driving almost 2200 km. 138 reviews and all excellent (!) and this review is going to add to that 🤩
Traveling with Facundo has been a real pleasure. The nature with all its different landscapes, the remoteness, silence and absence of people are overwhelming and a unique, out of this world, experience. Facundo is all that you may hope for when you decide to travel for 7 days in a car with someone you don't know. He is a real pro, very passionate and knowledgeable about the region and the native people, a storyteller, a musician, wine lover, father and husband. And most importantly, he is just a very nice and pleasant guy to be with. The Salta region has touched our souls and it has spoiled s for ever.

We had a great full day tour with Amalia of the Salta area, including Purmamarca and the Salinas grandes. They were very responsive pre trip and Amalia arrived exactly on time to pick us up in a clean and comfortable SUV.

Amalia was a great guide and also a very safe driver despite some winding and steep roads. She listened to what we were most interested in and adjusted the tour as needed. We really enjoyed our day and saw a variety of landscapes and areas. We also very much enjoyed our time with Amalia as its not always easy to spend 11 hours with someone but she has a great personality.

We definitely would recommend!

Facundo brought us to Colomé, a hidden gem, through cuesta del Obispo and Cachi.
He is an amazing specialized driver and he knows all about every stone and house. If you try to go to Colomé, better to have a driver as Facundo, who comes with an excellent 4X4. All was perfect. We learnt a lot about Salta region and specially about its amazing music. Facundo will propose you a wonderful playlist, accompanying each landscape. Also, we discovered small restaurants and authentic artisans. Parque Los Cardones is incredible, and the the way back to Salta was also marvelous. He completed the tour showing us his beloved Salta City. We stayed one night at wonderful Colomé (see Colomé). It was a two day tour with plenty of magnificent views and encountering amazing people. Thank you Facundo!

This place is really special, the colours in the mountains, and gorges are amazing. Special thanks to Amanda, who helped organise this on the phone! and to Raul, our guide - who was a son of the soil, and made things so interesting with his warmth, cheer, sensitivity and genuine love of this part of the country.

My girlfriend and I spent 3 full days in Salta, two of them with Santi form Andes Challenge. Not enough can be said about Santi and the Andes Challenge. First things first, these guys take pride in their native Salta, and it is purely evident, and emanates in every word and every point of the finger to show you the next landmark. We knew our time in Salta was limited, so we weren't sure how much we would be able to see. We ended up seeing and learning more in 2 days than we ever could have imagined.

Take the day trip to Cafayate and say yes to "the hike". We saw zero tourists along the hike and had complete serenity for over an hour. While in Cafayate we wanted to taste some wine, but it was a Monday and most of the wineries were closed. Santiago made a phone call and one of the local wineries opened their doors to us, and only us. They actually turned down other wine spectators while we were there. We toured the barrel rooms, grounds, and tasted great wines alone. Santi's lucnch suggestions were great as well.

Also take the day trip to the Salinas Grandes, and accept the "bike ride" down 36 kilometers of hairpin turns surrounded by the most amazing views you have ever seen. If you aren't that adventurous, the drive alone is worth the trip. Again, our photos from this day are unreal because Santi followed us through the Salt flats and down the entire mountain, taking pictures from every angle and vantage point. At one point my girlfriend had to use the restroom, and Santi drove a few minutes out of the way passing other bathrooms, because he wanted to take her to the "clean restrooms". You won't get that with any tour group, or in a rental car not knowing your surroundings.

Lastly, I accidentally overpaid Santi the last day by 1000 pesos, and 10 minutes after we got back to the room, I received a phone call from the front desk. Santi had returned to give back the money. I appreciate and respect that level of honesty and professionalism.

Santi and his partner are hard working, good people who take immense pride in their province and their work. I would highly recommend their company and send anyone to see the beautiful Salta with these guys. Others have said it in their reviews, but now I get it. This was the BEST part of our visit in Argentina.

Santiago - we immensely enjoyed our two days with you, your music, your stories and our conversations in the car, and ofcourse, Salta. Wish you guys the best in the future!

This was the highlight of our trip to Argentina. We got away from everybody, climbed higher than I had been before and on our final day walked through the cloud layer to the most beautiful view of the mountains. At all times, Facundo was patient and shared his passion for the countryside. Many thanks to santi, Facundo and our gaucho Martin. I would love to come back!
