Reaching the devil’s gorge (Tilcara - Jujuy), is by a road of 6km totally walkable with small car. In some sections it is very narrow, so you have to transit slowly and carefully.
Once on site a 2 usd entrance fee is paid. The tour can be done are problems with children, although there are some places that are of medium difficulty access.

The Devil's Throat is one of the best kept treasures in Tilcara. Imposing rock walls that rise towards the sky accompany the path that takes you to the beautiful waterfall that you will find at the end of the path. The waterfall is about 18 meters high.

The road starts from the bridge, turning to the left. We did it walking, it's 4 km out, all the time going up. You have to go quiet, make stops, not to aim for height. Beautiful walk. They charge $2,000 to go down to the waterfall. This most beautiful part of the tour, walking through a canyon. We loved the place! Highly recommended!

We went by car to the entrance, you also have the option of walking. The value is 2000 pesos, after a walk of about 10 minutes you reach the waterfall. Very nice place and the waterfall, although it is about 12m high, is worth doing.

This lovely short trekking leads you to Garganta del Diablo.
A nice waterfall at the end of a nice path full of colours and tiny stream.
Cactus and blue sky were my guides.
In January in this part of Jujuy you will be able to be in T shirt and put a sweatshirt by night.
Is a really easy and nice trekking to do.
It will take you half and hour/ 45 minutes if you make it fast.

I recommend doing it on foot... If you have doubts about the issue of tiredness .. it only has two climbs that can be done slowly, then quite a lot is flat and with steps. Taxis take you to the base, but it's beautiful to do the walk.
Having reached the base the price (July 2024) is $2000. The part to reach the throat is stony, easy to do, if you have a little vertigo I recommend instead of going *behind the white sign* (as indicated by the lady of the entrance) go ahead, it is less the ledge and a rather "dangerous" staircase is avoided.
Do not hesitate to do it, it is amazing the way. Arriving at the waterfall, nothing dazzling, but worth the walk.

We did the trail that goes from Tilcara to the Devil's Throat, approximately 10 km round trip. It is worth doing, the landscapes are incredible, the difficulty is low. At the beginning a little dog approached us and accompanied us throughout the round trip. Please if you see it, be kind. He is very sociable with humans, upon his return he stayed in Tilcara. There are many on the road, please respect them...

It can be reached by walking along a 4 km uphill path, or by car along a rocky road that at times is very narrow and corniced.

Then you have to go down about 250 meters to reach the river bed where there is an old dam now in disrepair, and walking for about 20 minutes along the river you reach the waterfall.

The walk is not very complex but it cannot be done by anyone either, it is a rocky bed and you have to cross the river about 5 or 6 times, a river that will be a meter wide, stepping on stones.

And near the waterfall there is a slightly more complicated area where you have to climb some larger stones.

As I said, it's not complex, but neither can someone with clear motor problems do it,

And the waterfall itself is not very impressive, it will be about 15 meters high and a not very significant flow of water.

Going down, walking to the waterfall, enjoying a ratio, returning and going up takes approximately 2 hours.

A beautiful attraction in Tilcara, they recommended a very good path that is not the one that GPS tells you. Find out well, the path is very good, you can do 8 km by car or 4 km by walking, very nice walk along the river bed to get to the throat of facial access and then comes the complicated part of going up to the viewpoint through the walkways. Beautiful Tilcara!!!!

It is a winding road (gravel) where you enjoy 100% of the views, which accompany you at all times. Although we did not reach the end of the road, the place was a place to leave the car, take photos and enjoy some mates in front of a beautiful landscape, with Tilcara at our feet. The pedestrian path is 4 km and by car it is 8 km to get there.
