It's a nice area to walk around and see some colonial architecture (not many, though). It's in the historical area of the city.

There is a nice monument at the center of the plaza and it is surrounded by attractive government buildings, the cathedral and the Jesuit church. Nearby is the Convent of San Francisco.

It's a nice little plaza surrounded by bars and restaurants, but unfortunately it is dwarfed by the huge flag monument between the plaza and the river. It's a good place to stop and rest in the sun on your way to the river.
