Great place to see the Parana river and the parks around the museum

The museum deserves a quick visit, nothing particularly remarkable except the fact that is located in a building that once was a silo for cereals and part of Rosario port. But what IT IS very remarkable is the promenade in the adjacent parks (parque de las colectividades and parque de la costa central). A walk of about one hour down the river will let you see at your left, the delta of the Parana river and at your right, in my opinion, the best part of the city. Restaurants, cafes, artisans on the weekends, etc. If you love nature and green, do not miss it.

Strange experience - might be worth it for the views.

Well - we didn't understand any of the art displays - had no idea what was going on. You have to go up in a lift to each floor and then walk out and through some other doors to see one room (on each floor) of incomprehensible art. My poor vertiginous husband got more and more petrified the higher we went! It is a stange experience - rather spooky. We were the only people there, and there were no people working there other than the guy on the desk who took our 10 pesos. It is an interesting building, but very neglected and not well converted for its purpose. It is worth going up for the views if you are not scared of heights, but not for the art. The nearby cafe is rather nice though. I think the exhibitions change - maybe we were unlucky.

Bizarre experience

Almost certainly the worst art gallery I've ever been to. The displays were poorly explained and generally looked like they had been put together by a primary school class. Very confusing layout as well. You have to go to each floor and open a door to get into the tiny gallery. Only one floor actually extends into the silos and this one had quite decent photographs on display and (the highlight of our trip) some toilets! Nice views from the stairwell and cheap at 10 pesos but don't bother if you are actually interested in seeing some art.

Waste of Time

This has to be the worst museum we have ever been to. The idea of converting the old silos into an exhibition space is great - but that is not what this is. The silos are regularly painted over and the exhibition space consists of on small room on each of seven floors and they are barely worth the effort of opening the doors to look at them. The view out the window over the city and river, however, is worth the entrance price.

Disappointing

MACRO is located in a large grain elevator with eight silos painted in bright colors. It is on the shore of the Rio Parana on the north side of Rosario's centro. Visitors enter, buy tickets and ride a large elevator to the top (7th floor) and enter a small room sparsely filled with a few objects and pictures. After a look around and another look out the window for great views of the rio, we visited a gallery on each floor. We realized that these galleries occupy only the building on the end of the whole structure, not the silos. We were disappointed! Also, the art was not well documented or explained and was cryptic and strange to our eyes. The riverside cafe, Davis, was the highlight!

Not too much to see, unfortunately!

I went there last year, regretting there were not too many works of art to appreciate --and the few on display not too important, either. If you want to see a true museum, miss this chance.
