I've been remiss in writing this review, as our visit was last December. HOWEVER, my willingness to comment now is a clear refection of how much The Vines is cemented in my memory. Our one bedroom villa was massive, very well appointed, peaceful/tranquil/quiet and overall...More

I truly love the Vines. This is a great place to get away from the busy city life and relax in the shadows of the Andes mountains. Each villa is super luxurious and equipped with every amenity you could hope to have in such a...More

We had 5 and the 2 bedroom suite was perfect. VERY large room, living room, kitchen and bedrooms with gorgeous patio and hot tub. The property is gorgeous. We rode bikes through the vineyards, worked out in the gym overlooking the Vineyards with the Andes...More

We had lunch at Siete Fuegos after visiting some Uco Valley wineries. It was worth every penny. Everything we ate from the food to the dessert was wonderful. When we were there, the only lunch option was US$75 three-course menu. The view, the food, the...More

The Vines was one of the highlights of our trip and a destination we were very much looking forward to after hiking in Patagonia. We don't usually stay in luxury hotels, but this was a very worthwhile indulgence and an experience in-and-of-itself. The pool and...More

Hard to get any better than this. Everything from the wonderful front-line villa (make sure you book one of these with unobstruced view of the mountians), fantastic service, great food in Mallman's place to the fantastic attention to detail and warmth of the staff make...More

We were in Mendoza for 5 days and our last dinner of the trip was here. Was a great way to end the trip--the hotel is beautiful, it looks like a boutique Caribbean hotel in the middle of a valley. We would have loved to...More

Oh my God! To die for! This was an absolute bucket lister and absolutely worth every penny. Spectacularly located at the foot of the Andes, perfectly appointed accommodations, beautiful Mallmann inspired food (try the seven fires menu) and the best and most genuine service I...More

Come here at harvest time and you can experience the entire vintners life. You can go into the vineyards and harvest grapes, bring them into the winery and sort them on the tables, destem them, sort them further, and even crush the grapes with your...More

Visited 4 years ago and had a lovely and very fairly priced lunch. Went back today and got the shock of my life. US$50 for a steak (very nice, quite a small portion). US$30 for an appalling, terribly presented and over-cooked pasta dish smothered in...More

Dinner Timing (0 Replies)
On our first day in Mendoza we are going to get back to our hotel at around 6:30pm. That evening we would like to have dinner at Azafran and also spend some time at the Vines of Mendoza Tasting Room. Should we go to the Tasting Room first and then have dinner at Azafran or vice versa? Also, what time do people normally eat dinner in Mendoza? We are being picked up at 9:30am the next morning for a day of winery tours. Thank you!

Great vine tasting experience with private driver Javier (3 Replies)
We just got back from our trip to Argentina, and vine tasting in Uco Valley, Medoza was one of the highlights of our trip. In attempts to save money we ended up booking a vine tasting tour for 60 pesos each recommended by our hotel which turned out to be complete disappointment. We ended up spending 5 hours on the bus full of tourists visiting 2 mediocre vineries and 1 olive oil factory which was a complete waste of our afternoon as most of our time was spent waiting for other people to...More

Hi Allie from Cali - Thanks for the detailed information...I like what I hear about Javier. Was it $160 for both or per person? Were there fees at each of the wineries too?

Short winery tours report (14 Replies)
We just came back from a 3 day visit to Mendoza earlier this month - and wanted to share our experience of touring some wineries. We worked with The Vines of Mendoza - with whom I had started to e-mail several months ago for advice. I thought they were excellent - very helpful and efficient. We wanted a 1 day tour, and they arranged a driver for us and made reservations for tours and a lunch at 3 wineries. The driver picked us up at our hotel in the morning, and our first stop was at...More

Hi whitbyguy! Your trip sounded amazing!! We are also going to SA next month and was wondering, how much did your wine tour cost? How come everyone on TA recommends getting a tour guide for these wine tours? Do the wineries not give the tours themselves? Or do the tour guides simply act as translators? Thanks! Any help would be appreciated!
