A brief history of Mendoza City
Nov 2019
Learning about Mendoza's past and how the city was rebuilt after a devastating earthquake cost USD $1.25. It's a nice 1-mile walk from most of the hotels in the heart of the city.

English text??
Nov 2019 • Friends
Here in Mendoza you have a lot of tourists around the world. Many of them do not understand spanish. We wonder why it is so hard to have the text in english? The visit to the museum would have given so much more if the texts were in english.

Below our expectations
Sep 2019
The museum is located in a park where the city stood until it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1861, the area is unkempt. The fee is cheap (1.2 USD/person) and you get what you pay for: No toilet paper or napkins or soap in the bathrooms. There are some exhibits, the foundations of some buildings and a Spanish speaking guide. Some antiques.

Very disappointing
Jan 2019 • Family
I went to this museum with my partner and was quite disappointed .
It's located in a pretty square where you can enjoy also visit some old church ruins.
The ticket is quite cheap and it allows you to visit the local aquarium if interested , but the museum itself is so poor. Together with that, mot a single sign or label is written in English. There are only a few intereting items or photographs, but unless you read Spanish you'll not understand what it's all about.
For children, there's a sand box that may entertain them if you manage to convey some excitement.
Be aware that it closes during siesta time.
Overall, just avoid it unless it's too hot/rainy and need a respite

Very informative
Dec 2018 • Friends
It is a very small place; however, they manage to convey Mendoza's interesting history. The place is surrounded by other historical sites so it is worth the visit.

Historical point

As a museum is ok, only need more maintenance...cut the grass outside...clean, is a pity that this historical place is so lack of a proper maintenance.
Area is not safe at all (thieves are all around).
Tip...take care of your bags!

A good look into history
Sep 2017 • Friends
You can enjoy a walk to this location on the periphery of the main city. You get an overview of the local history focused on the Spanish conquest, the growth of the area, the development of the city and the wine. Spanish iwll help your visit

Museum about Mendoza
Dec 2017 • Couples
This museum was OK. It exhibits some stuff about Mendoza, about the earthquake and how the city was founded. Unfortunately, none of the information was in English. The day we went, there was no tour in English either. So make sure to check this before your visit, otherwise it's not really worth it.

Worth a quick stop on your way to wine tasting and your hotel
Mar 2017 • Couples
Right outside the main part of Mendoza and close to the airport, it's worth a quick stop if only for the outside sculptures. Inside is an exhibit about the founding early days of Mendoza.

Interesting little museum
Jan 2017 • Family
In spite of having a significant portion of it closed for restoration, they organized an external tour to visit the ruins of a nearby church to compensate for it. Very friendly staff
