Uncorking Argentina put together an incredible itinerary for me and my husband when we visited Mendoza on our honeymoon. They followed our requests/budget when planning the activities that had us eating and drinking our way through the region! We absolutely loved our guide/driver Gustavo who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and who even purchased mate for us as a parting gift! We loved the range of wineries that we were able to visit - from small, boutique wineries to larger scale operations, we really were able to get a feel for the diversity of the region. It took so much of the stress out of trip planning to have Uncorking Argentina make the reservations and schedule everything for us. It was truly the highlight of our visit to South America and we hope to return to Mendoza in the future.

If I could leave more than a 5 star review for the service from Uncorking Argentina, I would.

From the very first e-mail, Daniel was incredibly responsive and helpful beyond belief. I am talking, when my boyfriend and I were having issues finding transportation into Mendoza from Chile, he stepped up and was reaching out to his contacts to support us. That level of going above and beyond is rare, but is why I would only ever book a wine tour through Uncorking Argentina in the future.

Daniel asked us about what we wanted to see and get out of the day (we had a very short period of time in Mendoza and wanted to see both Lujan de Cuyo and the Uco Valley region) and he found a way to make it happen.

We visited 4 wineries (Bandini House of Wines, Polenta Estate, Gimenez Riili Winery and Corazon del Sol Winery) and I couldn't imagine four more beautiful places (not to mention the wine was delicious, I'm still not sure how I'm going to get all the bottles we purchased home!).

Each of the winery tours was private and customized, so we truly felt like we were getting a different experience at each one, not to mention lunch at Gimenez was delicious!

Our driver Matias was incredibly informative, friendly and the best companion on our day.

Thank you again to Matias, Daniel and the team at Uncorking Argentina. We will definitely be back!

I recently visited Mendoza on a winery trip with friends and cannot recommend Uncorking Argentina enough! The team is incredible knowledgeable of the region and super accommodating with your requests and needs. Plus, the pricing is super affordable!

The team planned an incredible winery tour for us- we visited three separate wineries and each were fantastic. Our wine paired lunch at Trapiche was phenomenal! We also had a wonderful driver who drove us around all day, which was super convenient!

My group and I had such a wonderful day wine tasting in the region and every single winery was perfect. It was definitely a highlight of our trip and one of the most memorable experiences I've had on vacation. This team is perfect for curating the perfect winery itinerary for you during your visit!

We had a full day of guided wine tasting: four wineries, including an incredible outdoor lunch at one with a fabulous view of the Andes.

The customer service received throughout was excellent: fast and thorough response to all planning questions, flexible, a nice welcome card and treat at our hotel, awesome driver (Gustavo), and the 1:1 service at every winery.

Great wines, learned a lot, and drank and are a lot!

I just returned from a weekend trip to Mendoza with 3 friends. We chose Uncorking based on the great reviews from TripAdvisors and other sites. I was surprised and very disappointed at the level of unprofessionalism. They sent us several options for wine tours and each time the suggestions included typos, wrong dates and incorrect information even though we'd spoken to them several times over the phone. Two days before we were to leave for Mendoza they tell us that the main winery we wanted to tour was unavailable and gave only one other option. All four us had to email the contact Molly begging for her to tell us when the tours would begin (she never sent a detailed itinerary) and when we checked into our hotel on friday night, we called twice. Finally, she emailed saying they would pick us up at 9am the next morning and didn't apologize for the oversight or lack of attention to detail. We never heard from her again. We ended up enjoying the tours and had a great time in Mendoza but I don't attribute any of it to Uncorking Argentina. Next time I will definitely book on my own or with another company that understands customer service. It was expensive and not money well spent.

Our mission is to make our guests feel well-attended throughout their stay in Mendoza. Your comments are well received, though it is certainly disappointing to hear that we did not meet your expectations. We acknowledge our error in not sending the finalized agenda with your pick-up time. Our staff was attending to another traveler who was hospitalized and underwent two emergency surgeries. We apologize for not giving you the special attention that we always strive to provide, given this unfortunate combination of events. In regards to the change in your original itinerary, on occasion wineries do not have availability, particularly in May as they reduce staff and open hours to adjust to the low tourism season. When this happens, we always consult our clients prior to changing their itinerary as to how we can best adapt their schedule to still meet their travel goals. Given that you had agreed to the newly adapted itinerary three days in advance of your arrival, we were not aware of any discontentment. Had we been aware, we would have certainly constructed a new agenda. We are pleased to hear that all-in-all you had a great time in Mendoza and we´re thankful for your feedback.

When visiting Mendoza, Argentina, for winery tours, barrel tastings, gourmet luncheons, and trekking in the Andes, I recommend going with a company that can handle the complexities. The distances are far, roads not well-marked, wineries require advance reservation, and wine drinking plentiful (so driving yourself discouraged). Uncorking Argentina was the tour company we selected, and we were very pleased with their services. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, great advice, many connections to the smaller wineries. UA made our visit to Mendoza a fabulous experience! Highly recommended.

Prior to arriving in Argentina, I have to admit I was neutral regarding our upcoming trip to Argentina and the Mendoza region. We had been so busy back home that I never had time to anticipate the trip or do much research. Now, thanks to Uncorking Argentina, I have a totally different perspective and rate this trip as one of our best experiences. We were with a group of 5 others (total 7 people) and having the wine tastings, restaurant reservations and transportation arrangements already made allowed us to completely focus on the experience and the region without getting stuck on logistical details. Having details so well planned made it simple and easy for our group to move from place to place. Our hotel (Villagio) was very clean and had wonderful and friendly staff, Mendoza food was totally yummy and I would happily drown in the wine. The drivers were so warm and friendly, the winery and vineyard staff so passionate and everyone we came into contact with kind and helpful. I would definitely use Uncorking Argentina again for our next trip to Mendoza and highly recommend them for anyone seeking a relaxing but interesting experience. My husband and I travel a lot and this was one of most memorable experiences. Thank you Uncorking Argentina! Angela Smith

A long overdue note of recommendation and thanks for the work of Uncorking Argentina. We don’t often book package tours, but the level of individual attention and customization that Uncorking offered on its tours seemed very appealing . Planning our Mendoza visit was a great experience, as we were able to pick from so many options for activities. Carolyn and Gilda were quick to email and respond to our questions and inquiries, and to adjust our itinerary accordingly.

We spent three full days with the company. Two days wine tasting with Javier in the Uco Valley and Lujan de Cuyo and one “active” day where we tried the zip line and a mountain trek. Javier was a pleasant and capable driver and guide. As has been stated previously in this forum – Mendoza is a very different wine country then Napa, or even Stellenbosch. The wineries are larger and more spread out, timed tours, seating tastings and reservations seem to be the norm. As such, the days are less spontaneous to suggestion and we had less opportunity for Javier to act as our personal guide – since each winery really offered its own guidance and expertise. Even so, we could tell Javier’s and Carolyn’s influence truly got us some unique and memorable tasting experiences. Highlights included a barrel tasting at the tiny boutique Azul, a private tasting and tour of the cavernous Salentein, and (my favorite) a personal visit with the warm and lovely winemaking family of Hacienda del Plata. Its seemed to us that you absolutely need a knowledgeable driver or guide in Medoza as these wineries required advanced planning, timed reservations, and a very good Spanish speaker to get past security clearance in the driveways. We couldn’t have done it ourselves, even with a taxi – and were glad to have Javier. If we were to do it again we might have tried to fit in a few more wineries into our tasting days to broaden our knowledge of the region and its wines. We would compensate by scheduling some less loooong and leisurely (though delicious) lunches.

Carolyn was like a guardian angel throughout our stay, calling ahead to confirm reservations and checking on us by phone in each of our accommodations. (She even proactively switched the time of our zip line tour reservation when she heard a large tour bus was coming our way!) LAN airlines being what it is – she was easily able to accommodate changes when our flight landed late and left early. We felt extraordinarily well taken care of, and everyone we met spoke so fondly of their personal relationship with Carolyn and the company. A sweet touch was a small gift bag from Uncorking we opened each day, containing our daily itinerary and surprise!

Other highlights of our trip were the cooking class at Finca Adalgisa, and our amazing Andes trek with Pedro, the owner of Discover the Andes. We were particularly impressed when Pedro met with us at our hotel the day before the hike to discuss our health and preferences before planning our excursion. Pedro is an expert mountain climber, a vastly capable guide, and a pretty amazing person, who brought us up to over 11,000 ft on our half-day adventure. The strenuousness of the hike is tailored to your preference (and what he assesses you can handle.) Though difficult and altitude headache inducing, the payoff is totally worth it! Over a Cerveza Jerome, ask Pedro about the time he lived with the gauchos, or about the time he discovered virgin peaks of the Andes, or about the time he ran a hostel with a rock band, or about the time he carried his friend down the mountain. There’s probably more stories to be told – and you wont find yourself with a warmer or more interesting guide in any of your world travels.
