Pleasantly surprised
Apr 2019
Check in was quick and easy. We were all inclusive for a week two adults and a 15yr old. Room was lovely on the pool side in block a, pool was heated, rooms spotless, food delicious. Staff can not do enough, standards very high. Not so positive points, the restaurant could do with being updated, if you can get past that and we did then the food is delicious, the chef is amazing and appreciation goes a long way. Bar is easy never a queue, wine, soft drinks and sangria are on self serve tap. Drinks served in a glass of an evening. Entertainment is good although not every night. Maybe not a place for young children as no mini disco or kids club but for what we paid and our experience it was a pleasant surprise. Thanks to all the staff. X

A must visit to take a swim
Dec 2015 • Couples
You have very quick access to the river inside Mina Clavero, and that's great for families with small kids, but you cannot swim in there because it is too shallow. Nido del Aguila is the local swimming hole, the only place with enough water to even jump off the rocks into the water. Just don't commit the same mistake I did: DON'T TAKE A SIP AT THE WATER... It's actually too pure and chilly, and will give you a stomache that will have you running towards the nearest bathroom. The hiking in the area is great, even if it is mostly rocks and bushes, and you can even walk there coming from the city center (it's just a couple of km). If you're going to Mina Clavero, especially in the summer, Nido del Aguila is a must visit!

Spectacular Natural Area

Not many Americans seem to go to Mina Clavero, but I managed to find out about it an its areas like Nido del Aguila are amazing. This is the local swimming hole, where locals and vacationers from nearby Cordoba swim and play. People jump off the rocks, the water was clear (a bit chilly) and the hiking upstream is great (if you can get through the sometimes dense brush). There is a food/drink place up at the parking lot above the canyon, and a few places to eat locally nearby. Not a bad walk from the city center either (20-30 minutes). If you're going to Mina Clavero, you've got to go here!
