A sacred place
Dec 2019
Do wear appropriate clothing please, be respectful of the sacred place you are entering, it is so much more than just a place to see, or visit, it has been beautifully done for prayers and offerings while being connected to nature as well.

The Floating Virgin
Dec 2019
La Gruta is a peaceful place to ruminate and enjoy the surrounding area. Several years ago, the little chapel on the top of the hill became the focus of what locals called a "miracle" when the resident priest had removed the statue of the virgin for a cleaning and discovered upon its return that a mysterious image of a floating virgin took the statues place. Take a look and see what you think... Is it a miracle?!!

Replica of Lourdes cave
Aug 2017 • Solo
The replica of Lourdes site is well considered by locals. They come on the 11 February to pray the virgin. Intersting to see how people can recognize saint à site.

Simple Place

Lourdes’ Grotto. This is a very popular site for prayer among the faithful and it has become well-known because an apparition of the Virgin is said to have taken place there in 2011.

The place has an amazing story and it is a beautiful place to visit.

You can take an empty water bottle and fill it up with holy water from the Lourdes.

If you are a religious person, a MUST...
Jan 2017 • Family
It's a big place with lots of space to walk and ponder, lots of beautiful trees and a peaceful atmosphere. The gruta itself is outdoors for people to visit, so avoid going on rainy days, though it is easily accessible anyway.

Good place for spiritual renewal
May 2016 • Couples
This is a Catholic national shrine, they have adoration with the blessed sacrament every Sunday, is set in a beautiful place surrounded by nature; they have a holy water dispenser, an outer altar surrounded by trees with a grotto made on the Rock and a smaller temple/church on a higher ground, where the door of mercy is open for the pilgrims.
The also have the stations of the cross set on a trail that goes up on a hill and reaches the top where a huge cross is.
There is an image of the Virgin Mary in the center of the altar but is only visible from afar, once you get close to it; it vanishes, it happened when they took the statue to restore it.

A religious experience.
Feb 2014 • Couples
I wasn't quite sure what to expect but this grotto had an alluring quality. First you visit the grotto then enter a darkened church to glimpse an image of the Virgin Mary, quite magical.

Peaceful and tranquil
May 2013 • Solo
I visited Gruta de Lourdes in Alta Gracia and my eyes quickly teared up when I read all the miracles on bronze plaques. There is a beautiful park where you can walk and an impressive old church. It was closed (security gate that blocks access to the church) when I was there but I could get a glimpse of the inside. The premises also boasts a little restaurant where you can buy something to eat or drink.
