Touristy shopping, nice area, better on weekends
Feb 2020
Came on a Wednesday to browse/shop after walking around the river area, but many of the kiosks here were closed. Some were open. But I think this is more of a weekend thing. Still, pretty nice area to walk around and shop for local crafts in Tigre.

Wonderful

This is really a large collection of small retail outlets next to the river, offering for sale a wide range of food, souvenirs and drinks and you should allow two hours to see it all. I found plenty to look at and but and my trip was rewarding

Buenos Aires Day Trip
Dec 2019 • Couples
Easy to get to, an hour each way on the train and less than a $1 round trip. If you have ever been to Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco you have experienced Puerto de Frutos. In other words, lots of shops, restaurants, tourist kitsch and not much fruit. Colorful and fun, a nice diversion from Buenos Aires.

Nothing for tourist

They sell furniture and household items which some restaurants and ice cream stores around too. As a tourist I wasnt impressed. Would have liked to spend more time at the museum of art at Tigre instead.

Very touristy

For some place called a fruit market I saw only 3 vendors with produce. Tons of restaurants super busy on a sunny day. Most vendors had cheesey souvenirs. Some had local wood crafts which was nice. A bit disappointing.

Day Trip to Tigre - recommended when in Buenos Aires
Aug 2019
Great spot to walk and wander by the water at Tigre at the Parana delta. Check out the puerto de frutos with its many different little shops and museums to see. Unfortunately, since we went in August which is wintertime in the southern hemisphere, the museums were closed on a Tuesday although their web-pages announced them to be open. (Museo Naval and Museo de Arte). Our local friend told us that on Sundays, the place is bustling with families as there are many different activities to do such as canoeing and rowing as well as just wandering an enjoying the walk by the river. We enjoyed a coffee at Villa Julia, a Victorian hotel/coffee shop, reminiscent of Europe. Tigre is definitely a spot for an all-day outing, we enjoyed it very much.

A great spot for a leisurely wander around the craft shops

A nice relaxed atmosphere with lots of great craft shops. Lots of places to sit and eat or enjoy a coffee or fruit drink. Of course you can also buy fruit. Worth a visit.

Very popular visit
Mar 2019 • Couples
The market is getting bigger and extends outside the property itself through the adjacent streets. On weekends it is packed with people. In this opportunity I did not make any purchase and the crowds of people was overwhelming. I do not know if I recommend the visit. It can be an experience for those who want to buy something in particular or for those who spend the day in Tigre and see this place as a vernacula place to see.

Nice shops in a market style, most hand made and interesting items, nice restaurants and cafe's. If in Tigre, stop here.

A nice walk along the delta
Jan 2019 • Friends
The area gives you an opportunity to see some of the best handicrafts from the region. Originally an area where you can only buy fruits (where it’s name came from) it’s now an area with tons of stalls where you can buy authentic souvenirs from different regions in the country. It also has traditional restaurants as well as fast food areas. The prices are relatively cheaper than downtown Buenos Aires and a much better place to spend the day as you can also hop on ferries to take you on an adventure tour of the delta.
