I took my wife on a trip to Lee's Ferry to fish and Kayak on 9/19-20. It was her first time trout fishing and Mike (Papa) Roth made it a trip to remember. Between all the history of the area that he relayed and his intimate knowledge of where and how to catch trout on this gorgeous strip of river, she was captivated. It did not hurt that with his guidance she caught 6 nice Rainbows on the first day (as did I). The second day he dropped us and our kayaks off upriver and by using what we learned the day before, she caught another 3 (including a 16 inch beauty) and I caught another 5. Mike can be counted on to provide a top quality, full service trip. My wife and I will be back a couple of times a year from here on out and will NOT use anyone but Mike.

The best two days we have had in a long time. From start to finish it was great. Mike was able to tell us about the history and put us right on the fish. Even my youngest son was catching fish all by himself!! (5 year old). Over the two days of fishing with Mike, we caught over 60 fish all returned safely back to the water. I am already working on a date in September to take my pops.

Mike made our day! It was so much more than just great fishing. Mike shared the history and special sites along the river. He knows the river extremely well. Even I caught a fish...correction from Mike - MANY fish that day. My husband caught over 10 and said it was the best fishing day he has ever had. Marble canyon is breath taking and worth the ride alone. Add fishing supreme guidance and it makes it a must do trip! We will be fishing with Mike again!

It is so rewarding to see a giant smile on a new clients face while landing a Lees Ferry Rainbow . Especially those that don’t fish very often. Guiding for the past 33 years has been a life experience of exciting pleasure from watching little children hooking there own fish and reeling them in to elderly adults possibly reeling in the last fish of a life time and remembering the beautiful color of a mature Rainbow trout at Lees Ferry

Mike is a excellent guide and runs a top notch fishing business. My family of 5 fished with Mike for a day and caught 45 rainbow trout. Ranging from 12-19 inches. Mike provided lunch and was very helpful on the boat. He shared some local history facts along the way that was very interesting. Absolutely stunning scenery! I definitely would do again and highly recommend. Thanks Mike!

My husband and grandson went with Mike on a exciting day of fishing today. Mike is excellent! The trip was amazing! Being from NJ we didn’t know what to expect. It was beyond our expectations! We will surely book again with Mike!

After visiting neighboring Lake Powell with my dearly departed Dad for many, many years, but never having fished Lees Ferry, I decided it was time to take the plunge and seek the adventure this go round to the Lake Powell area. Doing research on the internet and talking with different guides and also getting recommendations by "word of mouth", I decided to book our July 2, 2019 trip with Mike Roth and his Northern Arizona Guide Service. My party included myself, my wife, two teenage sons, and one teenage daughter, all of whom love to fish. Mike greeted us at the dock at 7:00 in the morning with a firm handshake and a friendly smile. We all felt very welcome on his boat, even though he had to use a "backup" boat because his regular boat blew its motor the week before. To me, that showed me instantly that Mike was a class guy because he just as easily could have cancelled our trip, but he made it work, and the backup boat worked great. We spent the entire day fishing the length of the stretch from the dock to the dam and back, with a picnic lunch (provided by Mike) and a trip to the petroglyphs (as well as a history lesson on many different aspects of the canyon). We caught a lot of beautiful rainbow trout but the entire experience made the day. Thank you, Mike, and we look forward to seeing you next year!!

We had an amazing day with Mike. My two sisters went as non-fishing participants and had a great day riding along, enjoying the magnificent land and wonderful conversation with Mike. My son (15 yo) and I fished. This is generally an activity that he does with my husband but he enjoyed the day on the water with his mom and aunts. I even caught the first fish! We got beautiful rainbow and brown trout.
Mike was the best. He is personable, knowledgable and overall a great guide. Lees Ferry is truly an amazing place and I hope that we can get back to the area. Call him - you won't be disappointed! Thanks, Mike!

My husband went fishing on this trip while we were in marble Canyon. His review: "5 stars. Bucket list trip. The fishing was great. You will be hard pressed to fish in a nicer place. Mike was an excellent guide." - Dennis

Spent the day on the Colorado with Mike Roth. Mike was very knowledgeable about the river and it’s history. We started the day with a quick lesson and tour of the canyon. Then we got started fishing and Mike was very attentive to our needy family. Fishing was wonderful and we hooked over 20 beautiful rainbows. This was a once in a lifetime trip for us that we would love to experience again. Thanks for a great day Mike!!

We fished on a rainy day in April 2018 and boy were the fish biting! I hadn’t fished for years and Mike taught me how to cast and catch fish in minutes! What a fun day my husband and I had fishing and exploring the beautiful Glen Canyon Dam area with Mike. We will recommend him to all of our friends. Thanks Mike!

Really enjoyed the day with Jim and Noreen.
Rain was one word we used and the other being Monsoons were the others
They caught some great quality fish 3 fish between 16”- 17” see you folks in the future.
