Nice place to go for a walk. Very busy on weekends. If you go by public transportation you have to walk a few blocks from the route. Nice to spend the day or go for an afternoon snack. You can visit the Jesuit reduction and the José Hernandez museum. You can do activities in the lagoon, fishing, boat rental, etc. There is a path that runs along most of it. A place with a lot of nature, birds and tranquility. Your visit is recommended.

I hadn't been to Laguna in 5 years and I was surprised to find it just as I left it. The only thing I didn't quite like was that people are now able to enter the little forests with their vehicles (the stop-bar is not there anymore), so we entered one and a guy came in speeding with his motorcycle and scaring the fauna away....

Sierra de Los Padres is a small town in the hill 15miles away from Mar del Plata. Very nice to buy some souvenirs, eat something or making a picnic! Wonderful view! Also, There is a Lagoon close there called "Laguna de los Padres".

An interesting day trip from MdelP if you are visiting for a week or more and want to see a bit of countryside. Note it will be hotter than the seaside--hats & sunscreen essentially if you are going to walk around the lake.
Pick up the useful little map & 717 bus schedule from the tourist info centre in the mall at Alberti/Sarmiento in Stella Maris, then catch bus 717 (blue) on Sarmiento at Rawson. This is the first stop on the route so you are sure to get a seat, and it's a 50-minute ride. Use your SUBE card or pay cash (96ARS). Note the drivers don't give change.
Really interesting bus ride. Get out at the last stop on the Circular road in Sierra De Los Padres. Visit the grotto, the artisanal & souvenir shops. For lunch we shared the Piccada plate at Punto Cumbre and watched the hawks sailing over the plain below.
After lunch ask the restaurant to call a Remis to take you to the lake (no taxis in the town). Our Remis cost about 70ARS from town to the nearest entrance to the lake, via Camino Cacique Cangapol. We walked partway around the lake, visited the Museo Municipal José Hernández, then walked straight out to Ruta 226 to catch bus 717 back to the city.
You can flag down the bus at any intersection along the 226--no need to trudge down the road looking for a marked stop.

Very peaceful place and amazing landscapes. I made very beautiful pictures from there and I was amazed to see the diverse fauna and flora, horses running freely, migrating birds, it all felt like in a movie ! I wish I can visit again in the future !

While visiting this gorgeous place I had the chance of having long walks and incredible photos. There was not a lot of people, which I loved and the connection with nature is amazing. I really recommend this visit.

Its been a while since visiting the laguna, but when we lived in Mar del Plata this was a definite destination at least 3 or 4 times a year. it was like a time warp, escaping the city for the quiet and solitude of a country getaway. the lake is great, but the town around the lake is precious. Little shops are quaint and fun and just walking around the town is worth the trip. Don't miss this hideaway if you get as close as MDP.

Not exactly an european sightseeing attraction, but it is a nice alternative to beach hangouts, pays off.

Hola, yo fui en Enero pasado con mi familia y el acceso fue libre y gratuito. Es más, no recuerdo que hubiera un puesto de control en el acceso y obviamente en el interior de este amplísimo predio tampoco.
