The trip to El Ombu was exciting as we navigated mud fields to reach the estancia, which exceeded all of our expectations. It was an authentic and rustic experience in a gorgeous setting.
We rode twice a day and our favorite time out of the...More
We booked a day trip to this estancia through Viator and had a great day. We could have skipped the visit to the town, but the ranch itself is beautiful. The owner's son welcomed each of us personally and everyone was warm and helpful. You...More
This place is absolutely beautiful. The staff were welcoming and treated you as a visitor, not a cash carrying tourist. The food was outstanding and served in a lovely setting. I was able to do a horse ride prior to lunch, and the horses were...More
We were taken straight to El Ombu ranch after a long flight from London and we felt rested immediately.
The ranch is set in a lovely rural setting where you can wander around and enjoy a group horse back riding outing on the pampas. The...More
Visited as a day trip from Buenos Aires.
The estancia is large with a lot of land and is very traditionally decorated. Particularly enjoyed just sat relaxing in the gardens with a glass of wine, an empanada and the estancia’s numerous dogs.

My daughter and I began an 8 day Buenos Aires visit with two nights at El Ombu. It was great experience from the airport pick-up, empanada snack upon arrival at the estancia, superb mid-day asados, and tasty home-cooked dinners. My daughter enjoyed the horse riding...More
We booked through Expedia, the price was good. Tour Operator was Signature Tours. Although Buenos Aires was sunny, San Antonio de Areco was cloudy and it rained on and off. Our tour guide was informative but at times he was giving too much or unrelated...More
We were picked up at 8am and rode about an hour and a half to San Antonio de Areco. We opted for the extra two hour tour of the town before heading to the Estancia El Ombu. The tour of the town was nice -...More

We had rented an apartment and they picked us up at our door. We were in automobile about2 hours. The driver explained the countryside. We then transferred to a ranch guide. We saw the ranch by horseback ( you had the option of a carriage if you didn't want to ride). We literally were there from morning until dark. We saw every aspect, you could even milk a cow. Let us have freedom to wander on our own. Had tea in afternoon. Lunch was specular. Everything raised on farm. You could stay overnight if desired. An extra ordinary experience. However, it was an exhausting day if you took advantage of all that was offered. A day I'll always remember. The Gringo's were the best. Especially the one with the "Horse demonstration.."
A very memorable experience..also very personable very small groups.
