I went here on my own to see a game (KO 17.10 on a Saturday). The bus journey from Montserrat was smooth and dropped me near the stadium. It was then easy to purchase a ticket (750 pesos) at a white ticket booth outside the ground. The stadium is very exposed so if you’re at a day-time match and it’s sunny bring hat etc. After the match I got the bus back into town from the main road to the Southwest of the stadium. This took a while (around 25 mins) as many buses drove past without stopping as they were full. There were a lot of people around also waiting for the bus so I felt completely safe despite warnings about the area I had read.

I attended two football games in BA and the better atmosphere was definitely at San Lorenzo. The place to be is with the home fans behind the goal, known as Popular Deste. The singing and jumping starts before kickoff and reaches frenzy when the Crows score, though I was nervous at how much the stand was shaking. I was warned it is a dodgy neighbourhood, so I travelled by taxi at 100 pesos each way. Once inside I felt no concern at all. Ticket 300 pesos.

If you want a really good atmosphere, this place wont let you down. Just youtube San Lorenzo if you want evidence, the reality was equally good as it looks. We had no safety issue what so ever, don't no if you can buy a ticket from the boleteria at the stadium, we bought from a guy outside for a reasonable (400 pesos, the original price was 150 pesos) price and ended up in the standing section. Just try to sing along, wave your arms and clap your hands and you won´t have any trouble at al.

Really recommend this! You won't find much better atmosphere anywhere in the world!

Huge futbol stadium. Another great place to see a game in Buenos Aires. San Lorenzo is the Pope's team and they are traditionally a strong club in the top league. You will likely need to take a tour to go to a game.

Stadium located in the City of Buenos Aires, in the neighborhood of Bajo flores, opened in 1993, great atmosphere, great fan, I take my clients who like to live the atmosphere of Argentine football and leave happy with the visit, the Fan is very creative, the area is not the best but as Guide I take care of the safety of my clients and everything goes well.

Beautiful field and very good fans at San Lorenzo. The most faithful and as a game since it has a Copa Libertadores. The best court I saw in Buenos Aires
