Wine Tasting Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, Argentina

About Wine Tasting Buenos Aires
Wine Tasting Buenos Aires is a relaxed and social wine tasting in our beautiful wine space in Palermo Soho. During the tasting we try 5 Argentine wines from across the country paired with traditional Argentine appetizers, introduce each wine and explain the regions and history of wine in Argentina. Wines vary slightly between tastings, but at most tastings we start with Torrontés, the only native grape to Argentina grown in the highest elevation vineyards in the world, next a Pinot Noir from Patagonia, followed by 2 Malbecs from Mendoza and San Juan, before finally finishing with an incredible red blend from Mendoza.

It is a fabulous to spend an hour or two in this simple and elegant wine shop. Yamila those owner of the shop and a sommelier introduced us to the wines of Argentina, the north, south and central regions/provinces. Its a place not only to buy ine for drinking at home and for gifts confident t Yamila’s knowledge would ensure the right wine is selected. I know that if I Lived in Buenos Aires this would be a place that I would be buying my wines. Wine tasting is something we enjoy and have done when travelling to different. Countries and yesterdays experience with Yamila was by far the best. Ther was plenty of time to ask questions and to discuss the reasons for Yamila’s choices. I want to return.

Two friend and I spent a great afternoon at Bertie’s tasting some quite exclusive wines from a range of locations in Argentina. We enjoyed the wines and learnt about the wines we were drinking. This was complemented by fresh cooked food matched straight from the oven and beautifully presented. We had such an enjoyable afternoon - it was like spending time at a friend’s house... if you have a friend who is a sommelier and has a partner who is a great cook!

After booking on line, I did not send the $20USD deposit, because I don't have a Paypal account, and I didn't want to create one using Spanish, a language that I don't know. I asked our hotel to call for me, and I was told that our reservation had been confirmed, and that as far as the hotel staff could tell, the tasting would be at Malbequeria. When we arrived at Malbequeria, the staff there had no idea what we were talking about, so we went to Garruti 5151, the address listed on Tripadvisor , where we saw someone else who had no idea what we were talking about. With all the rave reviews posted on Tripadvisor, all I can think is that there must be a secret location for the tasting, and you will not be told where to go unless you pay the deposit. It's OK, though, we ended up at Ja! Where we were treated very well and had good wine and a lovely time.
