Multi cultural neighbourhood where people of all ages permanently live. Some good food traditional eateries. Off the avenues you may appreciate the true essence of this barrio.

After many days spent wandering the streets of Palermo Soho (where we are staying for a long visit), we wandered up to Villa Crespo today. It was a nice escape from the highly hip streets of Palermo Soho--more neighborhoody, and not quite as viciously cool. I hadn't realized that Gurruchaga was lined with outlet stores just above Cordoba, sort of like an outdoor outlet mall (but better because you are not stuck in a mall). Check out the Prune outlet for some great purses, wallets, and shoes. The prices were higher than the leather stores elsewhere in Villa Crespo, but the quality was much higher, and they were much more stylish. I'll be back (my wallet weeped a bit when I wrote that).
