Top ways to experience Rojo Tango

The area

Neighborhood: Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighborhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolize this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.

    At the Faena Hotel
Any hotelier who has the insight to put heaven and hell in the hallway of a hotel and a Damien Hirsh Dinosaur in the backyard has me at hello. So, when I learned that Buenos Aires had a Faena Hotel with one of the best restaurants in town and a tango show I was in. Was it worth $350? Absolutely. It's in Puerto Madero and they offer hotel pick up and drop service with the ticket. I would have come for the unicorn head bar off the lobby and the dragon bathroom faucets alone had I known. The long hallway with the horsehair benches and red carpet were gorgeous as well. The amuse bouche was trout. They offered 2 wines of good quality (Malbec and Chardonnay) and a sparkling white. I had to stop them from pouring because I would have otherwise been on the floor by the time the performance was over. The octopus carpaccio was excellent, as was the lamb with sweet potato purée. I liked that everything was accompanied by a chip and a fragrant oil. The dessert was chocolate ganache with passionate fruit, strawberry, and crumbs. The red room added to the drama of what was a very entertaining and beautifully performed tango show. They gave me a lovely eco sparkling water to go.

Incredible tango, delicious food, a romantic evening, perfect!
Pure tango. We loved it. The dancers and musicians were all very talented! The food was amazing with the best lamb I have ever had. The wine glasses were never empty. It is a small intimate venue but I can expect that your experience will vary with your sight lines to the stage. We weren’t at the front but fortunately had a decent view. All in all a wonderful evening!

    Don't Miss.
A great evening. I was a little skeptical about going to this but it was recommended to me. I'm really glad I went. The show was amazing and the meal was very good as well. Often times I've found the meal at a show is just average at best. That is certainly not the case here. The food and service were great with a lot of people at the show. I would highly recommend taking in this show.

They lost our credit card! We had to bring it to their attention :( it may speak to the rushed climate of the dinner service before the show. This show is overpriced and (despite reservations well in advance) it was hard to see for some of people in our group. I gave it a two despite the problematic customer service experience because the performers are excellent and the costumes were beautiful.

We booked the dinner and show package with pre-arranged pick up at our hotel. Despite confirmation of the show time and pick up at time of booking, on the actual day of the show we were emailed asking which show we wanted to go to as there was now an “early” show and a “late” show. This was a complete change from the confirmation and timings provided at the time of booking and frustrating as we had planned our day around the original timings. We chose the later show. The pick up was fine, and the venue is stunning. However the dinner was not worth the money. It was totally rushed, and the food was average (like you would expect at a convention or something). We were served our appetizer within a minute of sitting down and each course was rushed after that. The management team were also quite rude in the way you were greeted and seated. The show itself was fantastic. If you book this, just book the show and have dinner elsewhere. The dinner was such a let down given the cost paid for the meal. Given this is one of the most exclusive hotels in BA, I really expected more of a culinary experience.

The show itself was really good! Very entertaining and there were some really talented people who gave an amazing performance.

But for the price and what they offered vs what we were promised it was disappointing. They offered unlimited drinks and we only got 3 glasses of wine (coming from England we take bottomless drinks quite seriously) 🙈! It costs $170 per person which is extremely extremely expensive and the show only lasted an hour as well. Would not go back or recommend to anyone to go back as well.

This is a slick production with a quality cast that entertains almost non stop for around 90 minutes from 10.30pm. Need to book in advance and can either do for dinner and show (we ate elsewhere) or just show and drinks. Probably not a poor seat in this small cabaret area but stage is not high enough to view, from all seats, the fast foot work of dancers. Thoroughly enjoyed but would have liked of English commentary for background on key performers. Drinks service was poor.

The most emotionally moving dinner show that I have ever encountered. The beauty of the performances of the performers was the most entertainmnet thatr I have enjoyed in a long time.

It is worth the extra cost to get a front row seat. .

We arrived as directed and were seated at a terrible table. We asked to be moved as several tables were empty. We were moved to a better table(no huge post beside us and our backs were not to the stage). We made note that there were still several tables remaining unoccupied throughout the evening. The dinner was very good. The tango dancers were magnificent but there was a lot of singing in between. had we known this was more of a Cabaret we would have forgone the over $500.00 price and watched tango in the street.

We booked this directly through Rojo Tango, which is what I'd recommend, as they are a pleasure to work with and very responsive. A private driver picked us up promptly and was waiting after the show to return us to our hotel; we didn't have to hunt for him. The meal was a surprise, truth be told: we expected a "rubber chicken" but the food was actually pretty good (and the waiter accommodated two of us asking for ice cream that was not on the menu for dessert). The show was entertaining and well executed. I know some people complained here on TA they didn't have good seats, though I honestly don't know how that would be possible. It is a SMALL venue, and the dancers move about from the front stage to the side stage, so they are easily visible. (That said, if you book directly and include dinner, you get seated in the front row, which is 2' from the front stage.) We had a great time and recommend this show.

Amazing, fantastic…not enough superlatives!

Some details: We booked the show only without the dinner. This includes drinks only and the show. I would recommend this route to see the show. Also book it directly, you don’t need to go through another service. They were very professional in answering our emails and advised differences in cost depending if you pay cash or credit card. They picked us up at our hotel and the same driver took us back.

So for the show, it was just wonderful…the dancing the singing, the drama. Only negative is it is hard to see the dancer’s feet from the back, but we enjoyed it nevertheless. It was completely immersive, with band towards the back, the stage in the front, with dancers using many parts of the room including the bar, lighting, costumes…wow!

Definitely recommend this. Again…show only is just fine. BTW, the wine they served was very good.

Your experience will fully depend on whether you are the seated. The stage is not raised, so if you are not seated right in front of the stage (VIP tickets - dinner and a show), it is a complete waste of money. I was seated at table 11, at the very back (still paid the full $200), and all I could see were the torsos, which completely negates the entire point of going to a tango show. People in the back at some point started browsing their phones, some left laughing in disbelief by being brazenly taken advantage of.... I had to stand to see at least something...
The management is very much aware of the issue (see multiple reviews here mentioning it), and they don't care. They know you are in BA just for a bit so probably not going to fight too hard for your money.
The show is ok, but I've seen better in the States. However, considering the average prices in Argentina, the show is extremely overpriced for what it is. Probably the worst purchase of my entire trip. A very good lesson for me a first-time tourist in Argentina.

Booked this highly rated show at $200 us per person. Dancing & music excellent. Ticket included transportation & they totally dropped the ball on this. Transport organizer guy was rude. Had to wait 30 minutes to get car home. Unfortunately can not recommend.

Dear customer, Thank you for your comments but you never requested the return car. It is a pity that I do not value and lie about the goodwill of the receptionist that although it took me a while to get the car, she tried her best so that you could return to the hotel. It's good that the show liked me, it's the best in Buenos Aires with the best service.
