Neighborhood: San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.

In the middle of the week we made the combined visit of Zanjón de Granados and Casa Mínima, located opposite each other in calle Defensa and Pasaje San Lorenzo respectively, in the porteño neighborhood of San Telmo. I went with a friend and we bought the tickets there, paying as Argentine residents in the route of the first schedule, the value of $16,000- ($11,000- for the Zanjon plus $5,000- for the Casa Mínima). I don’t know if it was early or inclement weather, but that morning we had the privilege of being exclusive transiting both spaces, which last about 50 minutes in each. As for the story itself I will not narrate, as it can be researched online. I will just say that these are interesting places in Buenos Aires that evoke the history of the times of the beginnings of the city, with very passionate guides who tell, describe and explain clearly and in detail everything about both places, making our imaginations fly through the tunnel of time. For this reason I want to highlight who accompanied and guided us on this circuit: Victory in the Zanjon and Beatriz in Casa Mínima, and also salute the creator of these museums: "Don Jorge," named continuously with affection for them. They are private ventures and although the prices seem high, they are two corners of our past with charm and mystery that are worth visiting.

We detoured off the Sunday flea market on Defensa street to see this place
It has no tour just a view from outside
It is charming but not so special

Right in the middle of the San Telmo Market.
Across from El Zanjon de Granadas.
It’s free.
So not worth the visit is a dumb response because ... you are already there in the San Telmo Market. Second El Zanjon is worth the admission.
So easy peasy 1, 2, and 3.
- Q-Trip: El Zanjon has AC, clean washrooms
and a great English tour.
- Q-Trip: San Telmo has loads of junk BUT people
watching is fabulous and the hand-made arty
and comical T-Shirts are the best.

Possibly the skinniest house in the world. La Casa Minima is only 2.5 metres wide. A fun photo to take with your arms outstretched if you are in the neighbourhood.

If you are walking down the the Calle Defense you will most probably cross the corner where it is and you can check it. Curious facade, door locked... On the other side of the corner of Calle Defense it has a "museum" where you can get in and have more info about.

a small entrance, but you discover a large place inside. Well that's all! Nothing to do, nothing to see. Just a place where you can organize events. I wanted to leave but it is a guided tour and I couldn't.

Close to Mafalda statue and Cafe San Juan cantina, this tiny house can be photographed from outside and fun to be found. Worth the picture.

This is billed as the smallest house in Buenos Aires and is interesting to see but I would only make a side trip down Pasaje San Lorenzo to see it if you're already walking down Calle Defensa as it's not worth a special trip.

Nice place to visit, but do take the tour, we had a dinner there, food was ok but nothing special, service was very good. Our tour guide made the story of this place very interesting.
