Did the Recoletta Walking Tour with Martin. Would highly recommend this for anyone who has a few horus to spare - best way to see the architecture while being informed with the history behind it. Abolustely gorgeous city and I prefer walking through the city rather than taking taxi's to each monument.
I've done multuple Walking tours (other locations in South America) and Martin was by far the best guide; his enthuasiasm, knowledge and traveller tips were greatly appreciated.
He also provided a list of local restaurants, tango, and bar recommendations after the tour - we went to Parrilla Peña and was not disspointed with the portion sizes & service.
Would highly recommend a walking tour when you first arrive in the city and then do your own exploring after.
Pricing model was pay what you can but would recommend around $10-15 USD or more due to the length of the tour.
Woudl also recommend doing the Cemetry tour with the same company.

We were lucky enough to have time for two walks with these guys and Mary Ann and Dominique could not have been more passionate or knowledgeable if their lives had depended on it. Both walks were so well supported that the group's had to be split up into 3 smaller groups of about 30 people depending on language capabilities. In piping-hot weather we were guided around the Recoletta and Retiro districts with wonderful stories of days gone by and how the city was founded and developed, the architecture in this place is marvellous and is clear of its influences from the beautiful European cities from 300yrs ago. Would not have missed these tours as they provided us with a wonderful flavour for a beautiful city. Also, we stopped at a little cafe where they sold the most tasty empanadas we are whilst in South America!

We enjoyed this walking tour. Fernando was our extremely fluent English speaking tour leader. He expertly was able to manage quite a big Group of people (maybe 25). I am hearing impaired and stayed fairly close to him and could understand everything.
Some older history, some background on the founding of the city and it’s design and architecture, but of great interest to me was his discussion of more recent history from the Person’s to the present,

Buenos Aires Free Walking Tours is the best, and because they offer several tours, you can get a great feel for the city by doing multiple of their tours. We had Martin twice, he is fantastic - best guide we had in Buenos Aires by far. We went on the Recoleta, City Center, La Boca, and Recoleta Cemetery tours. I am clearly not alone in my praise for Martin and the tour company, many people from the first tour went on several of the other ones as well.

We did the free walking tour with William. It was an excellent tour with lots of great historical information presented in a really fun manner. I would strongly recommend this to everyone. William gave us lots of fun inside stories about the people who lived in the various palaces

Today we went on the Recoletta Walking Tour with our guide Martin. He was extremely well informed about the area, and constantly regaled us with stories, tidbits and information about the history of Buenos Aires. The way this free walking tour works is that you decide at the end of the tour how much you want to pay - it’s completely up to you. Great tour, great tour guide - highly recommend.

I did the Free Walking tour (afternoon City Center tour - from the National Congress Building to the Casa Rosada) on 13 June 2022. Javier, our guide did a fantastic job at explaining the incredibly interesting history behind the many points we visited on our 2 1/2 hour tour. Since I enjoyed my first Free Walking tour so much I decided to do another one the following morning 14 Jun 2022 (Recoleta Tour). This tour covered the northern part of the city from the Teatro Colon to the Recoleta Cemetery (where Eva Peron is buried although we did NOT enter the cemetery which requires an entrance fee). Ivan, our guide was fantastic. He has a PhD is Art History and was able to not only show and explain the many beautiful buildings and architectural styles of the places we visited but he also give us insights into the treasures and factoids behind why the various mansions, churches, and monuments were built. Buenos Aires really IS the "Paris of South America". Ivan was a total delight and another visitor and I took him out to lunch once the tour ended. When in Buenos Aires (or ANY city that offers Free Walking Tours), take advantage of this unique perspective from an educated native who is experienced and well-trained in directing guided tours. Their insights and knowledge of their city is invaluable. I look forward to doing more of these Free Walking tours in other cities I may visit in other countries.

We tried both the Recoleta and City Tours. Both were good, but I'm going to make a special mention for Victoria, our guide on the City Tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the explanations and stories she told us. I felt that she had a very real connection to the city, its history and its people. She was particularly helpful with suggestions for food and managing your first days in the city. Highly recommended.

I did three tours with them, in Spanish, but English tours were offered too. I did the Historical Centre, the San Telmo and the La Boca tour. Great, great experience, super nice and incredibly knowledgeable guides who gave Infos on history, art, culture, politics... Everything. The only fault o could find is that one of the tours went half an hour longer than when it should have ended, and I needed to leave earlier. Since tips are given at the end, i gave mine to a fellow traveler and asked him to give it to the guide. The Spanish tour is tip-based, the English one has a fixed price of 2000 pesos (at least one of them had a fixed price). I would absolutely recommend taking these tours. The guides are the best.

1. Do you need reservation for your tour, have problem book tour through website. Did you just showed up at the meeting place?
2. During the tour, was a restroom break at about half way point?
3. We are interested in afternoon long walk tour, hope still operating. Tried to call contact number, did not go through.

Which is the best walking tour in English and what do you wear and how much are you expected to tip at the end?
We are planning to do the tour around the 20th of February

I really enjoyed both of the free ones. You should take a look at the routes and maybe choose the attractions at you're more interested. I think I prefered the afternoon one. They usually say 10 dollars is the minimum amount to tip, considering the prices of other shorter walking tours. In february it will be still summer and high temperatures, so wear comfortable shoes and light comfortable clothes. Have fun!

VAI. Vale mt a pena. Eh a melhor parte.
