Neighborhood: Palermo
Best known as the largest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favorite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.

Perfect dinner with tasty asado and amazing performance.
This is a must do activity during any trip to Buenos Aires. No need to buy the most expensive tickets as the show is visible from any area.
Super talented artists.

Beautiful

The Opera Pampa in Buenos Aires, Argentina is beautiful and full of history. If time doesn't allow you to see an actual opera here, taking the tour of the opera house is the next best thing.

No longer exists!

Seeing as the last review was from September 2012 this may not come as a surprise, but I went there today to try and get tickets (!) and this show no longer exists. What a shame as it seems like it would have been a lot of fun!

Highly recommedable

If you happen to be in Buenos Aires for a couple of days, this spectacle is highly recommendable. Extraordinary development not only with typical dancers but also horses. Not to be missed. Expensive.

Sadly, this was easily my least favorite experience in Argentina. I was traveling alone and felt the Opera Pampa might provide me a good introduction to Argentine culture. After overcoming some mild registration difficulties, I was treated to appetizers that were only fair and a glass of decent wine. The show, which takes place in the arena, followed. While the horsemanship was very enjoyable, the show as a whole was quite forgetable. A printed English language overview of the show was provided and was helpful. Dinner followed the show. Amazingly, I was seated alone at a banquet table with a single place setting! This was quite awkward until I was rescued by a lovely pair of New Zealand ladies who invited me to their table. Dinner was an Argentine barbeque. The quality of the meats and sides was good, but not great. Dinner ended rather abruptly. Although a car was sent to drive me to the banquet facility, I had to ride a bus to get back to my hotel. To be fair, I think this experience might be more enjoyable as part of a group or on a better attended show night (the grandstands were virtually empty when I visited). That being stated, there are many attractions in Buenos Aires that surpass this.

If you like history told in music
Mar 2012 • Business
This is your kind of show. If you do NOT then do not go. It basically reviews the history of Argentina in music, horses and dance. The horses are beautiful and very well trained and ridden. Overall I enjoyed the show. The dinner is OK; not great but not bad either and the venue for the dinner is interesting in it's own right. Also, if you do not take a bus to get it here it is located within the confines of La Rural which is the convention center just off of Ave Sarmiento. We did not realize this until we were about 15 minutes late!

Skilled riders give an excellent show.
A nice chance to see Argentinian horse riders and artists disclose their skill in a wonderful performance which depicts the history of the country in a spectacular show. Excellent!

An impressive and eye-catching show with great food to follow!

My friends and I were looking for something to do one night in February having exhausted the majority of the Porteno nightlife spots and having been to a tango show, we wanted to do something a bit different. We came across Opera Pampa and decided to give it a go.

Upon arrival the beautiful arena buildings and large Argentine flag create the impressive setting of the show. We were directed towards the pre-show reception which was decorated with both contemporary and authentic gaucho design features. The reception offered free wine, beer and soft drinks as well as empanadas. The 45mins-1hr show began and we were immediately impressed by the professionalism of the show, the show's lighting, and the incredible gaucho horse skills.

After this enjoyable show we went back to the reception area for dinner and traditional gaucho asado (BBQ). The asado was extremely good quality, the wine, beer and soft drinks continued to flow and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We booked our tickets with an agency (BsAs4u.com) that I had used in the past.

Overall it was an extremely enjoyable evening and experience and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something a bit different from the usual Porteno nightlife.

Nice show
Good show if you're interested on gaucho's lifestyle and horse riding. You can see here typical argentine folklore.
