Not very known, but if you need anything made out of leather, this is your place to go. Located in Villa Crespo, close to palermo soho, its easily accessible and offers leather shoes, jackets, belts and everything else you can imagine.

Off to look for leather

I was able to find leather gifts in this local area. It's only two blocks lined with businesses selling leather products. I was able to find good deals.

Leather Jackets Galore!!

Took the subway to Malabia station and walked 5 minutes to this area that’s full of leather retail stores.
All sorts of styles and various quality.
Some shops have friendly sales staff who mostly speak Spanish while others leave you alone to try out the different jackets.
We were allowed to try on the different styles to see which fit suits us best.
Most retailers were very helpful even though we don’t understand Spanish.
We bought 3 leather jackets from 3 different shops. We had them altered according to our fit ( 1 hr alteration service free of charge ). Good workmanship & efficient service.
If you pay by cash, there’s a discounted price. But most shops take credit cards readily.

Found a great leather bag

I wish I knew the name of the store but it's the one that has leather weekender bags in the window with the sign that states 20% off. My daughter found one for $95 US that she really liked. We did not look at any purses or coats which were plentiful in most of the stores and not unique in style. The leather is not as soft as Italian leather.

Finding a good leather store

Last time I was in BA, 14 years ago, I bought leather jackets on Florida Street. This is no longer the case. I was told by several people, including my tour guide, to find good leather on Cale Murillo. when we went there on Sunday, most of the leather stores were closed, with the exception of Tiende 666. This is a large leather store. The leather jackets were expensive, but that is the case with good leather. My wife also bought a leather pocketbook. She told me the prices are much cheaper here than other places she has been to.

Shopping for leather goods

leather jackets are too expensive and very limited variety.
Outlets also with overpriced goods even when 50% off is given
too far from city center....not worth the trip and time.

Repetitive, quality questionable

I was really disappointed by Calle Murillo. I was in the market for a small crossbody purse or a larger weekender bag and could not find anything. Leather quality was often questionable and when I found a bag that was made with good leather, the metal attachments for the straps, etc looked so unbelievably cheap. Almost every shop carried the same stuff. If you love tassels, frills, studs, or flashier colors/embossed leather, you might like Calle Murillo.

The prices werent great either, often as expensive or more expensive than in America. No thanks.

Several square blocks of leather goods. Best known, but not the best is 666. All are fairly small specializing in ready made men's and women's, coats, shoes, or belts.They all know the price points so this is closed structure of buying/selling. USD can move the amount a little - you may find the conversation price moves the cost more so ie current rate of exchange.
