Also known as Casa de la Cultura, this grand, older building is located close to the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Presidential Palace. In the past, it was the headquarters of Argentine newspaper, La Prensa; nowadays, it's occupied by the Ministry of Culture. There was a free guided tour in Spanish when I was there on a Sunday at 4pm. You can take as many photos as you want of the interior and there are lots of opportunities to do so as the architecture is beautiful. This building was one of my favourites in Buenos Aires and I highly recommend doing the tour.

Great architecture, culture and history all in one place. Take a tour. The inside is as beatiful as the outside.

This building is one of the historic or important buildings that are located along Avenida de Mayo. If you can see there is a sculpture at the top of the building. Pretty interesting.

I had taken a tour of the place and was glad to see that the place had a lot to offer than the beautiful exteriors. It is a glimpse to the culture and history of the place and is worth a visit. The guided tour was a brilliant way to see and learn about the place and you practically ran out of memory space in your camera with so many worthwhile shots around. Each corner is decked in beautiful artwork too.

This beautiful old art deco building was built to impress and it succeeds. It speaks of a time sadly long gone when Argentina was not the shattered shell it has become.

Magnificent art deco building from the outside, but step in and enjoy also the lobby with wood panels and beautifully decorated glass. There is a small shop (buy a poster or two with facades of vintage BA bars) and also an exhibition area, but most of the space is occupied by the city's cultural administration.

It is an old building, that of the old newspaper La Razón that went bankrupt in 1990. The smithy that deceives the building is exquisite and gives it great status.
