Top ways to experience Shopping Patio Bullrich and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighborhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.

Visited Patio Bullrich shopping mall in January 2020. This is a very classy high end shopping mall. We dined at the food court - great atmosphere and service. We had a roll of sushi, pizza, Cesar salad and Malbec. All was tasty. Nice shops and movie theaters in the mall. A good place to spend on a rainy day.

Patio Bullrich was located across the street from our hotel, Sofitel Buenos Aires Recoleta. We went here for a walk but didn't shop. Many upscale shopping chains plus other local vendors. Security had a good presence. Food court had a great variety.

This is a high end mall that is the equivalent of a Class A high end mall in the US. The mall was clean and safe with lots of security. In fact the security is better than the US malls. Shopping selection is rough 50% international luxury brands and 50% Argentine luxury brands. Food court has a wide selection with Starbucks and several chocolate boutiques. Nice mall that appeared to have no vacant stores.

Visited Tonel Privado to pick up a bottle of wine. My friend paid for a "fairly expensive" bottle of wine $75 US, with her credit card, and when she used her passport photo as identification, the three salesmen laughed and called the photo "FEA". I understand Spanish much better than I speak it, and when I called them out on their rude comment, they tried to cover up their obvious faux pas by claiming they were calling the "quality of paper" the passport photo was on "ugly"..... Don't waste your $75 here, there are many other wine shops in the area of the Caesar Park Hotel. Obnoxious punks that need to understand that many foreigners speak and understand Spanish!!

If you are a foreigner visiting Buenos Aires, please do not waste your time here. Is it nice? Yes. Are there designer brands? Yes. Is there a food court with below average restaurants? Yes. Does this describe every mall you've ever been to? Yes. There are so many cool things to see in this city that going to a mall should not even cross your mind. To be honest, most malls located within big cities in the U.S. are nicer than this; the Galleria in Houston blows Patio Bullrich out of the water.

For those of you wanting to shop, whether it be for high quality clothing or uniquely Argentine accessories, hit the streets of Recoleta (Palermo to some extent). One of the nicest sports coats I own was from a tiny little store in Recoleta. I have no idea what the name of the store is, but it is run by an older Argentine who makes all of his jackets by hand with high quality material. I love the style and it fits perfectly. There are also plenty of stores (and street markets) that sell the classic Argentine goods such as mates, gaucho knives, leather products, etc. Even if you want the name brands, hit the streets; now that I think of it, Hermes and Ralph Lauren both have stores on street corners in Recoleta and cannot be found in the mall...

If your money is just burning a hole in your pocket and you feel the need to shop, don't. Do a few of these things instead:

Drinks at the Park Hyatt or Alvear Palace
Nice tickets to Polo or the Colon
Jazz night at the Algodon Mansion
Dinner at Tegui
Drinks at the Harrison (if you can get in)

What a surprise when you walk through the doors! This upscale shopping mall seems quite a big larger inside than you can observe from Posadas. Good options in the food court, public restrooms and at least two ATMs available.

This beautiful small mall targets the local neighbourhood, seeking shops offering higher end and trendy goods and higher quality eateries and cafes. I bought myself a blazer at the Ermenegildo Zegna store.

I walked to Patio Bullrich shopping mall on my last day in Recoleta to see what "upscale shopping" meant as stated in Yelp reviews for this mall. Security officers patrolled each level constantly and without fail. Public bathrooms are clean. Mall ambassadors are fluent in English and helpful. One mall ambassador even walked me to the store I was searching. A handful of fine stores are located here. Unfortunately these are upscale marques found in most large cities around the world. I did find one store specializing in Argentine crafts of the highest caliber. I also found La Martine which carries quality Argentine polo team clothing. I purchased a polo shirt there. I found and purchased a sleeve of Nespresso-compatible coffee capsules at Cabrales which is a kiosk importing coffees from Caffitaly. I was tempted by all the Italian fine cheeses, meats, and other delicatessen offerings at Valenti however, I was here to experience Argentina, not Italy. Places to eat a meal here are very limited. Most are fast food places. Nothing very tempting except the wine kiosk which sponsors a couple of champagne and caviar tasting events twice weekly. This mall is not only clean and safe but has some of the best air-conditioned space I came across in Recoleta. Unfortunately most stores here aren't very numerous or unique.

Not worth the time in my opinion. They have some high end stores you can find in the US and most major cities. It’s nice and clean and expensive... nice place to stop when it’s raining I guess.

Certain the most luxury shopping on the city. Top shops of the world are there. Prices are normal for the brands.
