The tent spires of this Russian Orthodox church make an impressive contrast to the Argentine architecture surrounding it.

It is not often that I get to attend a spiritual event based upon ancient traditions. The Russian Orthodox Church holds Sunday Worship services at 10 AM. It is a good idea to check ahead of time to learn about the dress code and other...More

It's curious that, when there was not a half dozen orthodox Russians, the first and only Orthodox Church in Argentina (and in South America) was established at the request of Orthodox of other nationalities.

It's rather hard to notice because of the buildings around it but when you spot it, you'll be glad. It's architecture is so beautiful and nicely colourful that it actually cheers you up. In not a religious person but I appreciate the style

I am not really a great church lover but this one in the middle of San Telmo, tango city, is outstanding. In the park across the road there is also a cat sanctuary where the people of the neighbourhood bring food to keep the cats...More

What a surprise it was one morning, en route to a museum no doubt, to see the bright blue onion domes of this more than over the top Russian Orthodox church! BsAs has got to have some interesting tales to tell.

Best time to go is Sunday, of course, when the church is open and so is the market in the adjacent park. Go inside, take it in. Wear appropriate clothing.

Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many
different cultures: a true child of immigration, much
like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after
dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both
