Neighborhood: San Nicolás
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.

Fantastic old city post office building. It has now been converted into a centre for culture and arts. We visited a book fair and on a previous occasion we enjoyed a tango event by disabled dancers.
There is always something new and some events in the foyer, for example, are free. The building has great architecture with a contemporary style concert hall apparently suspended in space.
The old post office fixtures and fittings have been retained which adds to its charm.

Yes, this place is huge. I hope they can maintain the quantity and quality of the exhibitions over time. During my two visits (too much too see at once!) I enjoyed the many displays and just walking around the place in general. Entrance was free too, though some events may have a cover charge.

This place is huuuuuge. Depending on the event, more floors might be open to public. Make sure to check them out. A really nice experience, you feel like you're back in time.

This place is absolutely massive and features so much! The best thing for me to say would be to check it out for yourself! It is in a prime location (city centre) and it is also free admission! There are attractions for everyone and the venue also serves many other functions such as a kids centre and much more!

The Centro Cultural Kirchner is definitely worth a visit while you're in Buenos Aires. It's within easy walking distance of other attractions (between Plaza de Mayo and Puerto Madero), and it's perfect for a short visit between other stops. The historical building has been beautifully restored, the main entrance hall with its high, stained glass ceiling is particularly impressive. Parts of the building have also been modified to include more modern designs (in particular the theater space), and there are some modern art exhibits on the upper floors. We stopped by for about a half hour to explore the building, which was plenty of time. However, the cultural center also offers free concerts and events, which we definitely plan on coming back to see.

The Centro Cultural Krichner is stunning architecturally speaking. They refurbished the space to accommodate multiple halls but kept the entrance as the old post office with all the traditional furniture. The blue whale hall is spectacular and the acoustics the same. You can hear the symphony orchestra or watch performing arts. If you log on to the website on a Tuesday you can try to get free tickets. Sign up, get a code then collect your tickets at the door. It was easy and totally worth it. Beautiful just to pop your head in if you don't have time to stay for a show.

This is a beautiful building...just looking at the architecture is worth a visit. Plus, it's free! They have several traveling exhibits. Ours was a pen collection....thousands and thousands...it was really interesting. They also had a children's game exhibit that had a long line to get in so we didn't visit. They also had people taking tango lessons that you could watch. We spent a couple hours there.

This monolithic period building previously housing the central post office now hosts the city's largest cultural centre. The striking modernist interior creates a powerful contrast with the 19th century facade. The CCK boasts several concert halls, exhibition areas and on the top floor: Piso9 , a gorgeous space with breathtaking views of Buenos Aires currently used for wine and food tastings.

The old building of Correos (mail) has been remodeled to hold some artistic expositions.
The building is impressive, really big and beautiful. 7 stories, very well kept. A piece of history itself.
Inside, some art exhibitions. Some permanent and others temporal. Well displayed.
It’s free (most of it). Good for a quick tour around the building and get the feeling of it.
If you are looking for a bigger art place I would go to Malba (new art) or Bellas Artes (old art) because they have more and better. Or fortabat foundation.
For me, is the building and how well they restored it. Well done!

En esa zona céntrica de la ciudad, hay varios sitios donde se puede beber, comer y refrigerar. No recuerdo que haya habido bar interno, aunque sà sirven refrigerios si hay actividades en las salas.
La sala con globos sigue estando disponible?
