Built to mimic the Parisian emporium, Le Bon Marché, it went through several subsequent transformations, including housing an art museum and railway station. Visit to view the beautiful Beaux-Arts architecture.

It has a good selection of stores to get nice souvenirs from your visit to Buenos Aires. Close to Florida Ave. and the subway and offer a discount card for tourists plus a nice food court . It is also a beautiful building!

The builindg itself is worth a visit, the highlight being the murals in the dome painted by several artists, the most notorious of all being Antonio Berni. There is a lot of history inside these walls as they were conceived in the late 1900s and only finished as the luxurious shopping centre it is today in the 1990s with additional... More

We visited this building for its architecture. We did not shop. Beautiful paintings and lighting on ceiling worth your visit.

When visiting Buenos Aires you must include in your schedule a visit to the galeria. The architecture is inspired in the masters of the beginning of the 1900s. At 1130 hrs they offer a guided tour for free, which I recommend take!

Went to this mall to exchange money. They are in the bottom level. Had to return because they needed a passport. When we returned they would only take one of our $50 bills because the other ones did not have the new strip. They only take $50 and $100 bills. The exchange rate was 14.50 peso for $!. So make... A very beautiful shopping center! There are several interesting places to visit and a large restaurant area. An important note: do not exchange your money in the kiosk there! The queue is long, the rates are incredibly low, and they don't accept bills with small pen marks, but they give you pesos with the same marks and ripped bills!

Expensive. Not great. Nothing you can't get at home and just as if not more expensive. Just another soulless shopping mall. Go to Markets instead. At least you see different things

Architecture. Good to be indoors on a cool damp day. Higher end stores but no deals to be found. Nice wine store downstairs. And nice atrium for men to sit and have a drink while women shopped.

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighborhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theater lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
